Dell is having a deal on this Inspiron 660s (dell.com), and I do understand that Microsoft is going to stop supporting XP with patches sooner rather than later (zdnet.com), but Windows 8 still holds no appeal to me despite the recent "upgrades" (pcmag.com) ... so is this my "last" chance to buy a Windows 7 machine before it's too late?

Anyone think they'll be off the market soon, or do you think I can still hold out and wait for even lower prices (or does anyone know of any even better deals available right now)?

The format wars continue. Just when we thought Blu-Ray might have the advantage thanks to the PS3, Microsoft and Intel have announced that they'll be backing HD-DVD instead, meaning there will be no native support for Blu-Ray in Windows. News.
