My NYR never should have let themselves get into a position where phantom penalties late in the game would be the deciding factor in this game......and as for the Thrashers goalie last night - the NYR threw everything but the kitchen sink at him last night

Well, that just hurts.
And if the Isles screw this one up too, then it's going to get plenty ugly around here when I'm throwing everything I own around out of sheer frustration.
Well it was an intense game last night, the Ranger rushes iwhen there were 5-4 minute left in the 3rd actually showed some heart on the team (who knew)and you could see the goal coming. But after that you could just tell the gam e would end in a tie.

and another two nails get driven in - the fishstix magic # drops to 2.......I thought Leetch was going to win that game all by himself last night........and for some unknown reason (possibly the memory of the MSG magic that night back in June of 1994) I am ever the optimist....

A tie? That's worse than a loss! Part 2. Ok, actually, it would have been way worse (for me, and apparently only me) if the Isles lost again last night, but it's still quite a disappointment. I mean, they were up 2-0! 2-0! Even if they do get to the playoffs, what are they supposed to do against a team like Ottawa? This is going to be rough. If you ask me, Chris Osgood was a much more reliable goalie heading into the playoffs than Garth Snow is.
It was a nice goal by Leetch, though.
Hey, dunkndollaz, why do you have to continue calling them the Fishstix? They got rid of that jersey a few years ago. I mean, it's not like I go around calling your team the Liberty! :-)
God how I hate those Lady Liberty jerseys - we have been a soft team ever since they started wearing them - only the white lady liberty jerseys were worse - we looked like the old Winnipeg Jets......
As for the Fishstix name - I have to say that the fishstix are the only team in professional sports that I hate more than the devils (Top 5 Hated Teams List - fishstix, devils, raiders, flyers, yankees, ny giants - ok that was 6) - it comes from being a lifelong Rangers fans and having to live through so many years of disappointment while the upstarts on the island had that sweet 4 year run - it comes from Dennis Potvin breaking Ulf Nilsson's ankle (yes - I know the crack in the crappy MSG ice was the real culprit but that doesn't matter - I still cheer "potvin Sucks" at every game) - I have a Gorton's Fisherman Bobblehead Doll with a fishstix sticker on my desk at work - when I used to drink I would refuse to say the words "Long Island" when ordering a Long Island Ice Tea and had to resort to years of Iced Tea & Vodka instead (though not a bad tradeoff) - that's just a few of the reasons why but I don't really want to get into a rant here......
and those Pumpkin 3rd jerseys the stix are wearing these days is making me wonder if Gorton's has an Frozen Orange Roughy on their menu.....

Well, back in the Day of the Smythe Division, you couldn't go a month without a benchclearing brawl involving the Flames and either the Canucks, Oilers or Kings. These guys HATED each other, 'cause we all had good teams. Now look at them...
