Well, I just hope that means the ChiSox are gonna get Rowand done. I think if they make him a fair offer, he'll be back, hell, he never wanted to go in the first place.

I don't like this move for the Angels. Hunter is a great glove, but a fair to average bat. Not worth $18 million when you already have a $10 million dollar CF. If it had been Jones instead of Hunter I'd see it as a better fit, as he has the ability to provide protection for Vlad in the line-up.
There isn't room for BOTH Hunter and Matthews in that outfield. One would imagine that Matthews might get packaged in a trade deal, but there's one problem with that. Matthews is owed $40M over the next four years. No team would take that contract unless they're utterly insane.
This is just a baffling move.
"Wocka Wocka...who wants to hear a funny-ass joke?"
This isn't such a far-fetched move for LAA to make. Garret Anderson is getting long in the tooth and was already hampered with injuries last year, so he'll get moved into the DH slot. Vladdy can also get his share of DH at-bats when he needs a rest, so the Angels now have essentially a four-outfielder rotation.
And really, talk about a dream defensive outfield of Vlad, Matthews and Hunter.
I have a sense the Angels might be hedging their bets in case one of their OF happens to appear in the Mitchell Report. There's been a lot of smoke around Matthews, and it might just catch fire when that comes out.

That's exactly what the rumors on the Internets say: they'll be rotating everyone between the OF and DH. Hey, if you're the The Angels Angels, you might as well; who the hell else are you going to put at DH? Willits? (Who, presumably, is trade bait now.)

Now, if they package Willits and prospects for Tejada from Baltimore, then they have a dangerous line-up, with it potentially being Figgins/Anderson/Vlad/Tejada/Matthews/Hunter as their first 6. The Angels line-up has been shut down in the post-season by the Red Sox and White Sox in the last 5 years, only 4-12 in the post-season since winning the World Series, 0-7 in their last 7 post-season games, and 1-10 in post-season games against teams not named the Yankees.
