Blackjack Mulligan will be inducted this year into the WWE Hall of Fame. Tune into WWE programming and WWE.com for more details as they are available!
Congratulations Blackjack! - Gateway Crew
This came following this earlier post:
WWE has an opening for a WWE agent position. "Cowboy" Bob Orton was expected to fill it, however, he was recently released. It looks like that agent position will be filled in by none other than former NWA Champion Barry Windham. Windham's possible hiring may be part of a deal to get his father Blackjack Mulligan to attend the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. WWE are trying to get him to sign a Legends deal, however, he has refused to sign it for some reason. Apparently, Mulligan is upset because he feels his so-called friends abandoned him after he finally got out of prison due to a counterfeiting scheme a few years ago. Mulligan currently owns a used car lot in Florida in which his son-in-law Mike Rotunda (Irwin R. Schyster) currently manages. Rotunda is married to Barry Windham's sister.
Dude, who would buy a used car from Irwin R. Schyster?
In the real world, WWE believes that no matter what our race, religious creed or ethnic background in America, we all share the common bond of being Americans. American-Arabs are a part of the fabric of America, and they should be embraced by all of us.
Is this really new news? I thought Meltz had already said Heenan had been slated to induct the Blackjacks at the ceremony, which was why he wasn't inducting Okerlund.
They really need to induct the Duke of Dorchester Pete Doherty one of these years. Seems like a lot of Vince's long-term enemies are showing up this year. At this rate, Paul Jones might show up one of these years.
I thought JBL would have been a nice choice to induct the Blackjacks. After all, he is the nephew of Blackjack Lanza & he teamed with Windham back in the early 90's as the New Blackjacks (a team I thought should have gotten a better push).

I want a Randy Savage DVD before any other DVDs. As much as I believe that Hogan (**especially**) and Hart were the guys that really gave the HoF legitmacy . . . I truly won't be satisfied with it until they induct Savage into it.
I mean, it seemed as if any time Macho came out to a match in 1994, Vince was going over the top to sell him as a "future Hall of Famer!"
It's just a message board, people. Chill out. Now, go show your internet diapproval of me! YEA!

I think that was some Observer scuttlebutt, but it also hinged on whether they could get ... um ... one of them to leave his house. (Okay, I went back and checked - the housebound Blackjack is MULLIGAN)
None of them were stuck in indy feds or minor leagues and they pretty much had some sort of memorable moment...
It's also good that WWE, which is the biggest and best wrestling promotion in the USA, has a place where they can honor their wrestlers, or those who made a difference in another larger, respected, non-indy company...

While I agree with the induction of The Blackjacks and can't wait to see The Brain, it would have been nice to have Mulligan & Lanza inducted by Barry Windham and John Layfield. Especially since Greg Gagne is inducting his dad as well.
Did anyone else notice that they misspelled DiBiase's name on last night graphic as DiBiasi?
Big Show: Why is he getting the Intercontinental Title shot and not me? RVD: Ahhh...maybe 'cause you're a tool. Big Show: Look. I am 7'2". I am 500 pounds. I'm a giant. RVD: Oh ok. You're a giant tool.
Your Class of 2006 is seemingly complete (wwe.com) with the additions of William "The Refrigerator" Perry and Tony Atlas.
Fridge is a cool induction in Chicago, obviously. Either Big John Studd or Walter Payton would have made a great inductor. So who gets the honors? I can't think of any current big-time superstar with an NFL background.
You can actually make arguments to have The Rock induct either one of these guys. The Rock inducting Tony Atlas is a wee bit of a mismatch though.
I'll say...Rocky Johnson for Atlas...Batista for Fridge.
(Is Rocky Johnson on bad terms with the company?)
The televised special on USA is only an hour long. There are 8 inductions, and I really, really want to see all of them, but that ain't gonna happen. We'll get Bret and Eddie obviously. Maybe they'll throw Fridge's induction on the show too?
What about bringing in a celeb to induct Fridge. Like say Mike Ditka?
Or Mongo McMichael? (now running for cover)
