The Philadelphia Inquirerreports that Sixers center Joel Embiid is likely to miss the entire upcoming season, after having a setback in the healing process of his right foot.
The injury, a stress fracture in the navicular bone, is the same injury that forced Rockets center Yao Ming to retire sooner than expected.
I'd say this screws the Sixers but they looked pretty screwed anyway.

The first rule of basketball is you never trust foot injuries, especially with big men. That said, the 76ers had time to wait to see how Embiid would heal, and the Sure Things (such as Wiggins) were already taken.
It does point towards how miraculous it is Steph Curry can perform at such a high level, and how concerned people should be about Kevin Durant.
It's sad for Embiid and for the 76ers, that's for sure.
