If so, having him "under contract" makes sense to a point of keeping him employed, just in case he gets pissed at Vince and walks.

(That was specifically mentioned when they revealed he'd be back last time this happened.) A short term deal to get him thru the Saudi Arabia deal still allows him plenty of time to go back to UFC.
