according to Coming soon.net and USA today

Bay has said the following about the third and final movie.

Bay said that "This one really builds to a final crescendo. It's not three multiple endings... As a trilogy, it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending."

Translation: This is the best we came up with. so one day some one will remake it to make every one else happy.

The newspaper says the new villain will be Shockwave, "the robot cyclops-turned-laser-cannon, who became dictator of their home world of Cybertron after the other Autobots and Decepticons journeyed to Earth."

: Why? how did that even happen? Cybertron was destroyed they say so in the movie. How can you take over some thing that isn't there?

finaly we have this

Transformers 3 centers around the space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA, suggesting there was a hidden Transformers role in it all that remains one of the planet's most dangerous secrets.

"The movie is more of a mystery," Bay says. "It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened."

:So....a transformer helps Russia get into space before the U.S....why? That make no sense.

Oh come on. At least wait until you see the finished product before you proclaim it makes no sense. Which it won't.

But don't listen to me. I actually liked both Transformers, stupid and terrible as they were. Or at the least, I have nothing against Transformers, stupid and terrible as they were.

FINALLY!

GI JOE and TRANSFORMERS were two of the first comic books I ever read. TRANSFORMERS was originally supposed to be a four issue mini-series but it sold so well Marvel kept it going. Issue four ended with Shockwave pretty much killing EVERYONE! Here is the cover to issue #5...

(image removed)

Shockwave is the baddest ass Transformer there is. I'm sure Michael Bay will fuck him up by turning him into something stupid like a Ford car or Sputnik or something retarded, but just the thought of my favorite Transformer FINALLY making it to the big screen makes me a happy little 13 year old again!

This is what I want...

...this is what I'll probably get...

I liked the first one, but the second one felt like it was Gone with the Wind long. The few shout outs to the Matrix were nice, but Jetfire was terrible and I have no idea who any of the Transformers were in the final battle they all looked like Megatron. I did hear the Twins are in it, but they maybe killed off early like Megan Fox. I might go see it, but its giant robots fighting each other, so I am not sure what people want out of this franchise. Besides Shockwave, I want to see the Dino-Bots, three films and no Grimlock, please.

Ding ding ding. I agree with this. Transformers were toys aimed at 10 year old boys 25 years ago. The cartoons were glorified toy commercials. Sure, when I was 10 I thought they were the greatest thing ever, but then you grow up (hopefully) and you see it for what it was. At their best moments I think both Transformers movies do engage the pre-teen boy target audience and the ten year old inside most adult men who remember the Transformers as kids or who just like giant robots fighting (no idea what girls or women get out of seeing these movies). The movies are pretty indicative of the source material. Which are, again, dumb toy commercials for children. Sure, the movies could be better, but it's the fucking Transformers. What serious, respectable film could be made out of Transformers? (I would be pleased if someone somehow answered that rhetorical question someday, but that man won't be Michael Bay.)

The one they made back in 1985.

Someone could certainly do a dumb fun movie about robots that beat each other up...but why does Michael Bay have to stuff it with racist/sexist/insulting attempts at humor? Why do we need that cutaway to the Indian tech support guy in the first movie? Why does Sam's Mom gobble up pot brownies within 4 minutes of walking onto a college campus? Etc. etc. etc.

Shockwave was in TF2 and he was one of the few bright spots. Especially since he was voiced by Frank Welker.

No news on Hugo Weaving returning as Megatron? What's the general opinion of Megan Fox not returning?

I don't have one. I thought the movies were terrible. Even the "sequel" to the original movie was better than the two Bay came out with.

Don't you mean Soundwave?

As for Fox not being in there, couldn't care either way.
I am however annoyed by the fact that right away there was hype about "who will be the next girl to play in it" since I don't need a girl to be in that movie. I don't need a love story for the guy that in the original show was quite happy dressing like his dad for most of his tenure.

Soundwave in TF2 was just hovering in space. I liked the idea but he didn't add much. We'll see what Bay manages to salvage in part 3. Then again, his ideas of what needs to be better probably differ lots from what we want (robots fighting)
