Owner of The Dallas Mavs. Do you think the NBA fears this man because he makes basketball games more exciting with his antics?

I think this man is hillarous!

I couldn't agree more! He's just like any normal sports fan, (except for the fact that none of us are billionaires). The Dallas game where the fight broke out, and he ran out on the floor only to stop about halfway out and realize what he was doing was priceless.

Has anybody heard about his new job? He's going to referee a Harlem Globetrotters game so he can see if officiating is really that hard.

His email address is displayed at games and he tries to answer all of them - if I were a hoops player I would sign with Dallas just for the perks he gives away like one of those really nice hotel bath robes

he's the best owner in sports (well, other than Packer fans). Hmmm, I thought the USA is a free country? Then why does Stern fine him? Cuban is allowed to say anything he wants.

Freedom of Speech is not really germane when discussing a group to which you belong. Part of your agreement to join such a group can be to abide by those in charge.

That said, I think Stern's fines have been excessing and an attempt to curb a problem before it really gets out of hand. And owners can be fined as much as the Commish wants, since there's no Union or CBA involved.

Yeah, that's right, Odessa. When Cuban joined the NBA, he agreed to abide by the NBA's rules. One of which is not to criticize the officiating.

It's not just Cuban, a lot of people have been fined for criticizing the officials.

But $500,000 is way too steep.

Anyone else think that David Stern is going to try his hardest to get Cuban out of the league?

I'm a Mark Cuban fan so I'm not biased against him or anything but no I don't think $500,000 is too steep, for a first offense it would be bad, but he continues to do it over and over again, you have to give him a steeper fine each time if he won't stop. And no David Stern isn't trying to get rid of Cuban, David Stern said himself that Cuban is good for basketball if he would just stop complaining about the officiating. If he wanted to get rid of Cuban he would've already given him steeper fines by now like taking away draft picks from the Mavericks.

I think it would be great if one day Mark Cuban was the commisioner of basketball, then he could do things like fix the officiating. He wouldn't ever get in trouble, cause he'd be the one in charge. But then again, David Stern is the best commisioner in sports so they're in no hurry to replace him.

I recently heard that he has a background with Indiana and Bobby Knight when he was younger, Does anybody know the scoop?

Well Cuban graduated from Indiana and has been a big fan of his for a while. I don't know if they ever actually ran to each other on campus, but when Knight was coaching Indiana, Cuban would visit him whenever the The Mavericks were playing the Pacers. Also when Knight got fired by Indiana, Cuban said he'd be interested in giving Knight a job as a consultant.

It was Indiana basketball that started Cuban on his way to becoming a bllionaire. From what I understand, he missed Indiana basketball after moving away, and thought that there should be a way to broadcast it over the Internet. So, he and a friend developed the program, which grew over time until he sold it to Yahoo for several billion dollars.

Mark Cuban is such a fantastic owner. I used to like Pat Croce when he was Sixers president for his antics. But Cuban is 10 times better. When he ran out on the court during that fight last year, I loved it. I wish we could get a guy like that to take over the Bulls.

Pat Croce,

Is that the guy that would bungee jump from the top of the First Union Center?
