My only complaints are that Jason Kidd should start over Iverson. Andre Miller should be on there before Alonzo Mourning and Elton Brand should possibly be on there over Karl Malone.

You know that the casual NBA fans would never vote last year's MVP, Iverson, over Kidd.
I really can't complain about too many of the starters, simply because it's all a popularity contest, anyway. The reserves, on the other hands, I have bitching rights for.
Elton Brand should be on the West team-- but not over Karl Malone. Malone's averages this year are just a little bit lower than his career averages, I think. I'd put Brand in instead of Wally Sczerbiak.
Andre Miller should be on the East team, once again I agree. But if he were put in instead of Mourning, the East would be left without a true backup center (although Jermaine O'Neal could fill that role admirably).
Let's not forget about Baron Davis, point guard for the Hornets.
And I'm biased, but I would've loved to see Jamaal Tinsley, our rookie point guard, make the All-Star team.
The thing is, though, point guard is definitely the deepest position in the league. One can name quite a few very, very good point guards off the top of one's head. Can you do that for centers? I doubt it.

And seven years later, we now know that casual NBA fans will apparently put Allen Iverson in the All-Star game regardless of how badly he fucks up the team that was unfortunate enough to trade for him. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
