| #1 Posted on 27.10.02 1730.29 Reposted on: 27.10.09 1731.26 | If you have ever been a fan of the Tony Hawk series, this is the game for you. Everything that I didn't like about the game has been taken out - and everything that you love about the game is still there.
Instead of constantly trying to clear the goals of a level in those infuriating 2 minutes drills, you skate up to people and activate a goal. You can then work on that goal for as long as you want, and simply hitting the start button gets you to a menu that lets you restart that goal.
When you restart the goal, there is no load time. In fact, once the level is loaded, there is no load time between goals - imagine an endless free skate session where you can kick off goals when you want to.
Also, the money is always there - no need to practice how to get to where you think it is in free skate, only to come back to career mode and find it was somewhere else.
This does a few good things. #1, I don't hate that I have to keep reloading and hearing the first 2 minutes of every track as I try for that one annoying $100 in a hard to reach place. #2 - there are areas that you probably could never reach in 2 minutes unless you did it flawlessly. Since there is no timer, there are now bonus items in these places...
The game rocks, and I will definitely be taping RAW tomorrow and playing this instead. Promote this thread! | | astrobstrd

Oh well, I guess I should have known that the game kicks 1000 types of ass. Looks like I'll be eating PB&J all week, since I'm already racing off to Best Buy... | skorpio17

I loved TH 2 when that came out. I loved skating in parks and knocking out street lights. Getting big air and big scores for super combos.
I don't like how they have 100 different goals. It feels like a chore to complete. It's too difficult for me. I'm supposed to collect SKATE and I can't even find where the A-T-E are at. I like skating through the college, but parts of it are too plotted. I just want to skate around and do some flips.

The reason there is so much is because 1-3 were so damn easy. Only 3 or 4 goals in those games had me say, "Man, this is hard". The new one has a ton that do.
Take it from someone who beat THPS 3 with every character (secret, real, and 2 customs), doing all the goals once, and then the pro challenges is much less of a chore. | Simba
