| #1 Posted on 24.7.17 0714.48 Reposted on: 24.7.24 0714.51 | The PPV that would not die. This thing ended at 11:15pm. For what reason, I have no idea. We do get the MOTN and maybe MOTYC in New Day/Uso. Where finally, finally a face wins a title clean. The rest of the show is a mixed bag. It depends on who much you love America. Nattie wins the women's elimination to a meh feeling. Naomi not defending the title on PPV seemed weird and the idea of Nattie/Naomi as the showcase women's match at SummerSlam with Charlotte and Becky right there feels wrong.
Boring Corbin kicked Nakamura in the balls to lose. Why? I have zero idea which like why AJ and Owens went a bit short. Owens winning the way he did was odd. We got Sami beating Mike Kannallis in oh this is going to happen to match. What took so much time in the middle was of course Super American Cena. The match was ok less ok if you are tired of this ape pounding chest bullshit known as America in 2017. At one point, people booed for Cena waving the American Flag. Good job, Philly, good job.
The main event was slow, prodding while in the first stage then kicked up a bit when it got to Orton vs all of India. Like all 1.3 billion of them in the avatar known as the Great Khali. Yes, Khali showed up to act as the Indian version of Austin helping Mankind win his first title over the Rock. Jinder is not hindered until he loses to all America John Cena at SummerSlam where Corbin cashes it in to move the belt around the boring track while AJ/Owens/Nakamaura get lost in the shuffle.
Oh yeah...Fandago was assaulted by someone who is not the Ascension. Maybe Haper/Rowan??? Promote this thread! | | Tenken347

I'm starting to wonder if the WWE grind and schedule is starting to wear AJ Styles out.
Big Match John even delivered an all time clunker.
This seemed like a strange time to give Sami Zayn a clean PPV win. Bad omen for Kanellis.
I think we can all agree that this is somehow Roman Reigns fault

My thoughts exactly. It's kinda sad that the thing I was looking most forward to was the Breezango attacker reveal & even that didn't happen. | used2bcool

Mike Kanellis could not have looked more like a geek if he had actively tried. Dude got outsmarted by Sami Zayn. SAMI ZAYN. | BigDaddyLoco

I was really hoping Mike and Maria were going to be like Buddy and Darling from Baby Driver. | Spiraling_Shape

| #7 Posted on 24.7.17 1401.03 Reposted on: 24.7.24 1401.16 | I was there in person and this really just felt like a glorified episode of SD! Live. That Styles/KO match seemed to just end out of nowhere. The crowd did *not* care about Mike Bennett-Kanellis and making Nakamura work Corbin's style of match didn't really rile us up either. The New Day/Usos match was good and I thought the women's match was fun but man those two gimmick matches were absurd.
As expected, we couldn't see a good bit of what was going on inside the Punjabi Prison...couldn't tell where the doors were, from our side, we didn't see one of the Bollywood Boyz take that scary bump. A guy in front of us was watching it on the Network to get a better view.
By the end, I had totally checked out to focus on buying our Royal Rumble tix on my phone. The presale started at 11pm and I wasn't the only one focused on that instead...
And the crowd also was super disappointed the Fashion Police segment ended with To Be Continued.
It definitely didn't sell out either, a big chunk of the upper level was tarped off. They were running ads and discounted tix and AJ was apparently in Philly early on Friday doing extra promo. However, I'm sure the Rumble will sell out ASAP (and the NXT Takeover the night before). | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
