| #1 Posted on 18.9.16 2118.14 Reposted on: 18.9.23 2119.19 | So, I went with my friend and his kid to this convention at the ECW Arena. First time at the arena. There is a ECW mural in the men's bathroom. Just because. Special Guests were Bret Hart and Sting. There was also almost every ECW guy and gal along with a good chunk of old and new guys. My first autograph was Shane Douglas then I noticed Sandman was there who was not advertised. As Sandman put it, Its Philly of course I am here. Tommy and Beulah were there. Beulah was super sweet with us. Tommy did laugh when I said ECW was my Saturday Night drinking choice of shows.
My friend got a hug from Vickie Guerrero while he was wearing an Eddie shirt. She was happy to see that. We both did a picture with Santino. Here is the sorta big news out of this convention. Terry Funk appeared at House of Hardcore that was running later that night. Funk said he was saying goodbye, because he wasn't feeling great. I met with Terry earlier and he was a bit slow doing things. He was there mentally, but his autograph was a bit too shaky. I appreciate him showing up regardless.
Bret was a half hour late and then he had a bunch of VIP people in front of us. While this was going on I was trying to find Tully Blanchard who did not show when we left. Kind of ticked, because I had a 4 Horsemen poster already signed by Flair in my backpack. Two and half hours later, we finally get with Bret. He was really nice and worth the wait. We talked about his book. I thanked him for not holding anything back. He said it was his greatest accomplishment. Which in this guy's life is pretty something.
I did not get to see Sting, but all reports was he was awesome. I did shake Booker T's hand. He was all laughs and really didn't mind we didn't spend money. And money was spent. I wish I did have more, because the Steiners, Demolition, Ted Dibase and Ryback were also there plus some indy guys. Rhyno was scheduled for House of Hardcore which we didn't do. I guess we also missed the return of the Dudley Boys to the indy scene.
Last year, they had Shawn so no lack of star power in this place. It got crowded after awhile and there was no real map to where everyone was. No air conditioning either, so it got hot around noon. Still, I would recommend it, just show up a bit early. Its always a great time hanging out with my friend and his kid who usually accompany me on these trips. If they do another one in Philly, we may go back and hit House of Hardcore. Promote this thread! | | BigDaddyLoco

| #2 Posted on 18.9.16 2223.37 Reposted on: 18.9.23 2225.27 | Seems like fun. I enjoy getting mark photos, but this show seems like it could get expensive quick. I got sucked into the NEW events last month myself. I'm curious what were they charging just to get inside the door? I saw Perry Saturn on the poster which interested me because he's been missing and off the grid off and on, but then I saw an interview saying he has major brain trauma so that's sad. A two and a half hour wait to see Bret Hart? You are a trooper.

| #4 Posted on 19.9.16 0702.20 Reposted on: 19.9.23 0702.21 | I probably spent $180 on photos, autographs and admission which admission was only $20. The prices for autographs and photos were usually $15 to $20. Bret and Booker T were $25 to $30. Which is not bad. The most expensive items were in the box action figures. Not matter what they were $20 and up. Compare those prices to a Wizard World or NY Comic Con, those prices are dirt cheap. Ryan Howard still plays ball?

Are the photos Polaroids? Or do they have a digital camera and they print you out a nice 8x10 photo? | lotjx
