"Ladies and Gentlemen, The Kevin Owens Show has been put on hiatus for retooling."

Highlights:
-Where's HHH? I wonder what HHH is doing? What will HHH think of this?
-Roman Reigns stands tall!
-Remember how weird it was that the company was doing two different, unrelated weekly jobber squash match segments on the same show? Well, good news: now they're doing three!
-Ezno Amore gave birth on live television
-New Day and Gallows/Anderson make a play for the worst wrestling segment of 2016 on the same episode that Enzo Amore gave birth on live television
-Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who recently battled for the last time ever, battled
-Sasha Banks, who is a face...pretended to retire for 10 minutes to fool her fans? Or something?
-Titus/Darren Young is still going. It has always been going. It will always be going.
-Cesaro is down 0-3 and by the end of this angle, will be entirely covered in kinesio tape like a mummy made entirely out of crime scene tape

Good highlight:
Jericho: He's the longest reigning Universal Champion in company history!
Owens: (nods, quietly) Seven days.

"What happened?"
Oh, don't worry about it. You're just finished, that's all."

Heck of a show to put out there right before football season.

Heck of a segment to run against the College Football Halftime.

I never thought the Kevin Owens show would be worse than a regular Raw.

Something I haven't done in a long time. I elected to just go to be instead of watching the Owens/Zayn match. I couldn't take anymore.

I guess I thought this episode was, uh, less terrible than everyone else? There were two solid matches, although both were ones that we've seen before, and probably only rate at about the 6th or 8th best versions of Charlotte/Bayley and Zayn/Owens. I'll still take both of them. Most everything Jericho did last night was a winner. In addition to "longest reigning," there was also him hugging the belt instead of Owens, and actually, now that I think of it, his match with Rollins was pretty good, too. So, three pretty good matches, which I think we have to agree is about the best RAW can do, considering the facts that they have three hours to fill and the widest pool of the greatest wrestling talent in the world, possibly at any point in history. So yeah, 3 good matches, tops.

And I guess I'm surprised that so many people bought the Sasha promo - it had "red herring" all over it.

Yeah - the "bad news" was actually for Charlotte but I don't remember if she actually got to say that specifically amidst Dana's attack.

I continued my run through the Raw Replays area of the Network last night while real Raw was on, and the post-WM 1999 show was infinitely more entertaining than what I missed live.

I kinda bought the Sasha promo, but was wary... and I'm glad it came out the way it did. I'm excited to see how Sasha and Bayley interact over the next few months until Sasha finally turns on her.

I love New Day. I like the Club guys... but this has to stop. It's gone from entertaining bad to just bad. I bet Vince laughed his ass off though, which is all that matters, right?

Is there anybody who actually cares about round 85934 of the Prime Time Players exploding? Someone tweeted "Make Darren Young on Superstars Again" last night, and it really is the truth. No slight against Young necessarily, but what purpose does any of this serve? In half a year, they'll reunite. Again.

She did, but she flubbed it. After the beatdown she said something like "Oh, the bad news wasn't for you, Dana -- it's for Charlotte. I have a match against her at Clash of Champions." She SHOULD have said "The bad news wasn't for ME, Dana" ... oops.

I'm probably more amused than I should be at the "longest reigning universal champ" gag. I wonder if they'll put that on a tshirt.

I only caught the first segment, but that was some crackling positioning for those four.

I can't buy Steph asking to be the "girl with the shy smile," -- the character has too much history as a roaring heel -- but the way they played that hallway scene was strong. And then Kevin's promo. And then Seth's promo (to a MASSIVE face pop). And Foley vetoed Steph's suspension of Seth with sound logic (I make the matches, and we settle scores with rematches). That was Heyman-level writing there.

Sounds like the show peaked early before the game got started.

I though those pins/stickers they had on was the Cruiser Weight title for a second. Has anyone got a look at the belt or even the design drawling for it?

The best thing to come out of last night's RAW is the tirade of tweets send out by Vince Russo, who appeared to be legitimately insulted that Sasha would DARE question his booking of women during the attitude area.
My favorites:

My complete and utter delight at these tweets got me my very first twitter block, and from Vince Russo, no less. Truly a red-letter RAW.

Those were for the Connor's Cure charity initiative because whenever WWE partners with a charity (even one they helped found), it has to be plastered all over every show.

Obviously it's a good cause and I'm not belittling that in any way. But it's a bit much to put the logo on the (fancy new) digital ramp throughout the entire show and (seemingly) force every person on the roster to wear a pin whenever they're on TV. (See also: Susan G. Komen all pink everything)

Oh and there isn't a belt for the CWC winner - they get a trophy:

Got to see a couple of familiar faces as the squash victims since the show was in Kansas City, both regulars for Harley Race's World League Wrestling. Bo defeated "Kickin'" Kyle Roberts and Nia destroyed Miss Monica Passeri, who just won the WLW Women's Title a few weeks ago.

Am I the only person alive who would have preferred WWE keep the "no Zayn/Owens" stip alive, but instead had Foley announce the signing of Generico and have Genercio-Owens?

I also think it's easy to have Steph remain heelish, but be mad at Hunter for his actions. I've been married for 15 years. There are times that my wife and I love each other but don't like each other or what we've done. It's actually pretty easy to write and it doesn't make Foley seem like an idiot (bonus in 1998 she wasn't a shy little girl. She was born in 1976, so she was 22.)

Come on, I'll play along and say Mick had a concussion and he thought that Steph was a little girl and he thought Kane was Satan after that match, but really? He's acting like she was 12.

The natural angle here is that Hunter is pissed because he's jealous. He works all the time on NXT. Rollins is always hugging and flirting with Steph. Steph is 40 and has pumped out a bunch of kids. She nags Hunter because they don't go out like they used to and he doesn't help around the house and he works all the time and he thinks his job is more important than hers. She's flattered that this young wrestler pays attention to her. It doesn't have to be an infidelity angle, it can be an insecutity angle? Guys - how many of you have wives with male coworkers who you would love to pedigree because they're just a bit too chummy with your wife? It's a REAL angle. I trust my wife, but there are still times that I want to be sure that some men she works with know that I'm alpha.

You can keep Stephanie strong, make the character interesting, and also keep Foley strong. Just quit being lazy writers.
