Q'N'D:

Hideo Itami(returning from injury after over a year) d. Sean Maluta(of CWC fame) via flying knee strike. Zack Sabre Jr., Tony Nese, & Drew Gulak were shown seated at ringside.

Mojo Rawley squashed Chris Atkins so fast that Samoa Joe's run-in didn't hit until right after the pin. That sparked a Joe-Mojo brawl to set up a future match between the two as Joe is upset over having to face Nakamura and taking it out on everyone else.

Asuka d. Aliyah while literally offering Bayley a ringside seat for a view of her future. Contract signing for that match is next week.

Quickie backstage interview with Oney Lorcan about "going back to his roots" after his recent upset win over Tye Dillinger.

Last week's mystery vignette was revealed to be Ember Moon and she'll debut at Takeover.

Bobby Roode did a GLORIOUS~! heel promo. His theme music is amazing.

Revival d. TM-61 non-title when Dawson pinned Nick Miller after a DDT; the transition into full Arn Anderson cosplay seems to be complete as a DDT ended a match in 2016. Post-match fight with Ciampa & Gargano seemed to set up another Takeover match.

Well, damn. Feels like a spiritual successor to the sadly lost (I believe never used?) Curt Hennig TNA "Champion" theme.

As a staunch Johnston/Hart/Derringer axis loyalist, I gotta admit,CFO$ have knocked a few recent ones out of the park. (This, Balor and of course, Nakamur's theme, which is 15 stars on a scale of 1-5, in particular.)

Jealousy, sure. Or maybe Roode's new song is making Dalton go a little radio ga-ga, or stone cold crazy, or maybe even causing him to have a sheer heart attack. It might make him feel like the invisible man. "I want it all, but now I'm going slightly mad," he might lament.

But he's strong. He knows how to play the game, and now he needs to do so under pressure. The show must go on, Dalton. Keep yourself alive, spread your wings and maintain your true one vision. Fight the ogre battle and defend against the dragon attack, while proclaiming "Don't stop me now!"

I've really dug most of the CFO$ stuff so far. A lot of it has ended up on my workout playlist.

Fun little show as always, mostly setting the table for Takeover. I think we'll see exactly how the landscape after that looks, when the last of the draft stars disappear from the show (and maybe Bayley?).

Asuka has been poor as a champion. She has had no good fueds and disappeared after she won the belt. Bayley should go over and remain til Survivor Series. It will help both of them to have a blood fued to cement Asuka while they bring in real threats to her.

Bobby Roode is doing a total 1995 Shane Douglas here, a Full Franchise. Which, I mean, is not exactly something I'll ever complain about.

I'm so, so happy that Itami is back. I've missed that guy a lot, and he fills in so many of the holes in the roster. I wonder if we're every going to find out who it was that injured him, or if we're just going to let that drop because most of the obvious suspects are on RAW now.

And it's so hard to get Full Sail to boo anybody, but I think Asuka will do a little better as a heel, actually.

I'm not into Bobby Roode (or most of the TNA castoffs) but that song is pretty outstanding.

Don't forget they also gave us Sasha's theme song, which is one of the best around. And I love Sami's ska-punk entrance...both of those I bought with my own money from iTunes.

Pretty sure the choir was the Princes of the Universe.
