Or at least that's what I thought when it seemed to be Cass and Jericho in an actual match in the main event. Instead, they close the show with a top-of-the-third-hour segment. Quite odd.
Reigns versus Styles rules all. AJ is more than carrying his end of this program, and the fans are reacting to him, which is so good to see. Gallows and Anderson however, would be just another tag team if not for The Club.

Yeah, there were a lot of boos for Reign's, but there were a LOT more cheers for him last night than I have heard in a long time.
That's a $15,000 jacket!!!!
Oh, and regarding Ambrose, the wife had "The Shining" on this past Sunday, (it was Mother's Day, she wanted to watch it, so we did.), and towards the end of the movie, Nicholson is randomly wandering around the hotel, and you can see that Ambrose definitely stole many of his mannerisms from Jack's whacked out character. I assume he had the jacket destroyed because it was more of a face gimmick than a heel one, and he talks all the time on his podcast about needing to constantly refresh and tweak his character in little ways (plus how obnoxious it is to carry one of those jackets around in airports all the time).
I feel bad for Cass not actually getting the RAW main event but that sure was a sign of confidence that he won't sink sans Enzo. | texasranger9

The Roman-AJ stuff was money. The fans were buying into their confrontation at the end. I bought into it. I wanted to see more.
New Day can get anything over. Anything they say the fans will chant along with. They're the new Rock in the regard that he could stay the most ridiculous stuff and the fans would go with it. Love them. Didn't see the reasoning for them to eat a loss to the Dudleys, who were losing to the Social Outcasts on Superstars about a month ago, but alas this is WWE.
NEW ERA NEW ERA NEW ERA
The ending angle was also well done. The attack during the blackout worked well, the reveal was framed right, and Cass came out looking good too... and now we'll probably get the actual Cass-Jericho match on SmackDown that nobody will see.
I liked that Ryder got an extended backstage segment with Shane. It let him show some - gasp - personality that we don't see when they randomly have him in squash matches. He looked good with Owens.
Needs more Sasha Banks. Why are we not getting Sasha Banks?????
I don't know what has inspired the Young-Backlund "Make Darren Young Great Again" thing (besides the Trump title, obviously), but I am always sold on anything with Bob Backlund being crazy.

But that's also the trigger for the audience to sing along "and you can't teach that." Of course, Cass (who is never Colin Cassidy ANYWHERE except when Lilian Garcia is doing intros) immediately said it himself after the audience did, so...I'm sure we'll get them on the same page soon enough. After all, I don't think he's ever had to SAY "SAWFT" a single time since coming onto the big show - which ALSO means that Stephanie's now said "SAWFT" more times than he has. Ugh.
Hey, Shane, say "15,000" one more time, wouldja?
WWE books and "tells stories" like their audience are morons. Perhaps they're not wrong.
Too bad JBL and "Nattie" couldn't cancel each other out with their alleged commentary... instead of amplifying each other's alleged commentary.

THIS. Yes, Natty is decent in the ring. Yes, she's nice to look at. (HUGE augmentations aside.) BUT, she is HORRIBLE on the mike, made much worse by the way the she presents herself as to friggin' perfect. She always has that smug look on her face that we are blessed to be in her presence. yeah, no Your taking screen time away from the boss. You're only on the screen so Vince could talk Bret into making another ppv (special event!) appearance. EVERY SINGLE TIME she has lost, she has that: "How did THAT happen?" look on her face. It allows him to show his personality and not be "the Billy Gunn to Enzo's Road Dogg" who just gets to say one little line. Same thing happened in NXT 2 years ago or something when Enzo broke his leg. On the other hand, let's home Enzo isn't out too long as WWE might get the idea to break 'em up.
Roman-AJ is still working well. I do hope however that they don't stretch the reveal of who's working with who beyond Extreme Rules. It'll start losing steam fast..

On that note, on Talk Is Jericho, they revealed that it was actually John Cena who initially got the crowd spell-chanting S-A-W-F-T when he interacted with Enzo & Cass after a dark match prior to them appear together on TV for the first time.
They did the bit and Cena asked them what they just said and the crowd repeated it and continued to do so thereafter, so by the time they actually made TV they already had the crowd on their side. | SKLOKAZOID

| #13 Posted on 10.5.16 1843.29 Reposted on: 10.5.23 1846.32 | So far, in this New Era, Cass has come off well for a Vince McMahon Brand Tall Guy. I'm not mad at it. I also don't mind closing the show with a "midcard" angle as Hour 3 is a death zone and should be a time for them to experiment and not build to the end. Shake up the card, watch your old SNME's and MSG shows.
(Secretly, though, they know Reigns has a better shot of doing well earlier in the show and know they just don't want him in the lowest-rated hour, especially when he's against the popular AJ, who usually doesn't drive people away.)
I think the best place for Enzo right now is being the Paul Bearer to Cass' Undertaker. Cass can speak well enough, but if Enzo sets them up, Cass can knock them down. Still think they'd be better off in the tag division, but they still stand on their own as solo acts well. Enzo helps, though.
Um... wow, yeah, really blown away by this New Era. Shane and Stephanie are so amazing as the Leaders of the New Era. It's good to know who's in charge of WWE every time you watch a show because they're really, really important as they spearhead this New Era. It's so new and fresh. | BigDaddyLoco

When he was doing his backstage interview did he go straight to "Badda Boom"? If so was that an accident, because he seemed to stall for a second realizing he forgot "Badda Bing". It didn't sound right, but I wasn't paying full attention either so it might just be me.

I actually was paying attention, but was not aware enough to just hit mute and enjoy the match which was quite good until the screwy ending. Nattie has been terrible every time they have ever put her on commentary, which is probably why they still do it.

I disagree with all of this, but I am so anti Jericho these days my judgement could be severely clouded. The last segment was junk. If Jericho was doing this stuff in TNA right now ... he would probably fit right in actually.
Reigns - AJ and the IC feud is all great stuff. I like Rusev - Kalisto too, but my goodness who ever put that Rusev - Sin Cara segment together needs to have their work checked before trotting it out there next time.

Enzo intentionally skips the Badda Bing quite often and it never sounds real to me though I've gotten more used to it.

I've been vehemently anti-Jericho ever since his match against Neville at Beast in the East, to the point where I thought he was just embarrassing himself and was hoping for a minor injury that would convince him to retire, but I thought last night was really good based on the YouTube clip I watched. | BigDaddyLoco
