1: Sami Zayn beat Adam Rose - Rose came out to his normal theme; not to silence. The crowd started to sing along to the theme but he didn't like it and tried to silence them. Decent back and forth match with Sami coming out on top. Adam is sexy with his long hair...but Sami looks dorky with his buzz cut and beard. Sorry, that's kinda lame. ANyhow, Sami wins with a koji clutch. Nice work!
Backstage: Johnny Wrestling talks about Samoa Joe. Dayum.
Backstage 2: Jason Jordan and Chad Gable come up with their team name: American Alpha in a fun but kind of confusing set. Gable says Ready, Willing...and Jordan finishes it. Pretty sweet. I think I know a few things about interpersonal chemistry, and these two seem to be really, really good friends in real life. You can't fake this stuff.
2: Apollo Crews beat Tye Dillinger in a fun match. The hubby, not nearly as much a WWE fan as I am, was asking when Bobby Lashley returned to the fed. Anyhow, great match. Tye and Apollo Lashley (our new name for him) don't do anything for me, but Apollo's theme is now my ringtone.
In ring, after match: Apollo askes for a rematch against Balor. Not for the title, he knows he needs to work toward that - but he wants to finish what he started. A heel turn ready to happen?
Backstage 3: Team BAM in a clusterfuck interview. I don't know what the point was with that at all. Thinking chemistry, this group doesn't have it...and Blake and Murphy are uglier than Hornswoggle. What the hell is Alexis wearing on her hand? A medival torture weapon?
3: Baron Corbin d. Rich Swann. Rich come out dancing, so he's kinda like Xavier Woods when he was in NXT. I can't remember if Baron did END OF DAYS to win the match - it seemed he did some swinging round about backbreaker thing but it's still good. I like Baron's look - I love long hair on a guy but man, tooooooo many tattoos.
Backstage 4: Bayley and Carmella have an interview - these two are BFFs, and they talk about their title match (please please PLEASE don't turn 'Mella!!!) but tonight, they tag against Emma and Alexa. Suddenly, out pop Brain Busters #2 (Dash and Dawson) to talk about how 'Mella won't be a champ like Enzo and Cass. Oh noes! Anyhow 'Mella has to be calmed down by Bayley. I adore Bayley - as do my twins, but 'Mella has star written all over her.
4: Bayley & Carmella beat Emma and Alexa Bliss. The only thing I really got from this was that the crowd was silent for this match, and Alexa sounds like a guy when she yells. They targeted Bayley's ribs for a good part of the match, which is great psychology. Great back and forth match. 'Mella wins via submission, and is rewarded by a Bayley Hug.
According to Twitter, today is #NationalHugDay. Have you hugged anyone today?
Backstage 5: Finn Balor is interviewed and agrees to a rematch with Crews. Chivalry LIVES!
Main Event: Samoa Joe beat Johnny Wrestling in fantastic match. I could watch these two go at for an hour but I don't know if Joe has it in him - but still...this is proof that while HHH and co are making great stars at the Performance Centre, the indies have the best talent. Joe wins with Cokina (spelling?) clutch and that's all folks. Johnny is a talent to watch but it leads me to ask: how far do those who actually aren't farmed from the WWE actually go? Yes, DB made it to the title picture, but when was the last guy with a solid Indy background given a respectable run with a world title?
Somewhere during the show, there was a video of Aiden English and Simon Gotch: their entrance played, was distorted; they came out, smiling, then they started frowning and acting angry. Look at Gotch; he was about go into Rage Mode or something. Ah, if Aiden wasn't married to the spawn of Eddie Guerrero....
Wait, I'm married. Damn it. A girl can always dream.
That's my bit. Sorry to the regular who posts but I had some time before my first patient came in. Promote this thread! | | whatever

Neat to see that all three contenders won with their somewhat secondary finishing maneuvers. | Tenken347

Don't sweat it. My recaps usually go up Friday late morning to early afternoon, depending on my work schedule and if I've got anything else going on. I don't mind folks doing their own occasional write-ups - It's a fun show, and I'm just glad when people want to talk about it. That said, if you beat me to the punch (like today), then I don't see any point in doing a full recap, so I'll just piggyback off of some of your points.

It's killing me that he's never done "Ready, Willing,...and Jordan!"

Crews is everything that WWE wanted Lashley to be (and of course, which he never was). This match was only noteworthy to me for letting Crews kick out of P10's finisher.

Can't disagree any harder. I love this group, with Bliss as the undisputed brains of the operation and the guys running a gimmick as her goons. I also think their trios entrance has the best choreography of anybody in wrestling.

Okay, well you got me there.

I was super impressed with Swann's agility and movement even in this squash.
Originally posted by Doctor Mom 'Mella has star written all over her.
She's about the best possible valet that a wrestler could ask for, but she's a good talker, not a great one, and her wrestling skill are still waaaaay below the other women, including a lot of the ones that are still at jobber status. This was probably the best in-ring outing that we've ever seen from her, and it was still Bayley doing most of the heavy lifting (literal and figurative).
Originally posted by Doctor Mom but when was the last guy with a solid Indy background given a respectable run with a world title?
Seth Rollins. And it probably doesn't really count, but Reigns did do some time on the indies as well, so he's done some dues-paying. NXT and the Performance Center are a pretty new system, so I'm not sure that you can really look at the last 10 years and make any accurate predictions on how they're going to treat indy guys going forward.
Edit: Duh, CM Punk, the longest reigning champion of the modern era. How'd I forget him?
Although, for real, Johnny Wrestling needs to wash some of that indy off him yesterday.
Anyhoo, good write-up, although the only thing I'll ask of you if you decide you want to do some more is that you try to keep the thread titles consistent.
