Not sure I'd hire the guy, but he was a big name, and they were playing to half filled stadium most Sundays. Promote this thread! | | EddieBurkett

Its disappointing to see part of this shaping up for another team.
I'm glad Kelly's still in the NFL. I thought overall he had the right ideas even if he got in his own way sometimes.
From everything I've heard about Baalke as GM, this is going to be interesting, if only because Baalke didn't want to hire anyone to threaten his power, and Chip overplayed his hand last time. Maybe Chip can stay in line. I suppose this will all come down to whether or not they can stay on the same page.
I have a bad feeling this is all going to work out stellar for the 49'ers, and the Eagles are going to look stupid for firing Chip Kelly after one bad season. At least Belichik had a losing record in Cleveland when they fired him. | Big Bad

We've yet to see much evidence that Kelly is actually a good NFL coach, or that the 49ers front office is anything less than a tire fire. | drjayphd

Well, he was actually pretty good the first two seasons, before he usurped the GM's office and blew it all to hell. He's one of those coaches who really shouldn't be buying the groceries because he's give himself a roster full of candy, and no coach is good enough to make something filling off of that. Now if he can't succeed in San Francisco, then we'll know it's because his stuff doesn't work in the pros. Or maybe it's because of another incompetent front office. The perfect position if his goal is to not get blamed for anything. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
