| #1 Posted on 22.12.15 0711.23 Reposted on: 22.12.22 0720.16 | Well, you know its a bad Raw when I am starting the thread. Its the annual Slammy show which is always a rough ride. We could go through who won, but to simplify lets just say all the wrong people won minus Rollins for Superstar of the Year. From the Usos to Nikki to Brock/Taker as match of the year, all the wrong people won. It also didn't help that no one showed up for this. So, ask why even bother?
As for the wrestling, Owens/Ziggler was good. Sheamus is now the third man on the ladder it appears as Ambrose beat him in the cage. I am wondering if Ambrose/Reigns at the Rumble is going to be a thing or if they are going to throw Ambrose in the Rumble and eliminate him for Brock to destroy.
Steph needs to get off tv now and they may have given her the out with her slap bet on random dude at the end. Just an awful Raw and kinda depressing where you see what they view as greatness or how bad the fan voting is. Promote this thread! | | JimBob Skeeter

I thought they were going to go that way in the opening segment with Reigns. I was waiting for her to try and slap Roman again, him to catch her wrist, and then go on the mic: "Oh, Missus HR Person, could I have a chat with you for a minute?" | BigDaddyLoco

| #5 Posted on 22.12.15 0951.29 Reposted on: 22.12.22 0951.52 | Slammys were a bad show to follow last week's good show up with, because they are such a drag. Really, we're at the point where they should spin the Slammys off back into an actual award show and put it on the Network.
Also, maybe have at least half the winners actually be there. Imagine if the second most prestigious awards show, the Academy Awards, had Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, and uh whoever else wins not show up.
Good to see Seth show up and heel it up.
Demon Kane stepping us against the Wyatts again continues the neverending boring Wyatts story.
I think part of my problem is that I'm watching through old Raws in order on the Network, and I'm on the MSG show where Austin first stuns McMahon and Cactus Jack appears to fight HHH. While I don't think along the lines of "we need the Attitude Era back!!!" like a lot do, surely there's some way to make every show seem exciting and not so bland.

Week to week, I have to weigh up whether staying up until 4.15am is worth it when I more often than not have to start work at 8am the next morning. Sometimes I stay up, enjoy the episode (or rather, not actively hate it) and manage to somehow power through the rest of the day. Sometimes I do what I did this week, which is to say fuck it and get a good night's sleep. Boy, it sounds like I made the right call this week. | JimBob Skeeter

Santino was kinda cool, but New Day vs Edge n Christian didn't win LOL moment? And the person who actually probably won the Divas polling, Paige, getting shafted in favor of Extra Plastic Bella? Lame show. At least Owens/Ziggler was good, and Shaemus/Ambrose was, well, a Shaemus match. Heel Shaemus is even more boring than face Shaemus. Kudos to Ambrose, who seems to have finally conquered that never-ending losing streak.
Jesus, Steph, get your shrill ass off my TV. This angle was dead in the water years ago, and the water it's in has become toxic sludge. Daniel Bryan and Ziggler should have been the final nails, but then they hit the reset button yet again. If Roman finally banishes the Authority for good, I think the fans might finally forgive him for not being Daniel Bryan. So he'll probably win a "Authority leaves town" match, and a month later they'll be back.
At least Lucha Underground is starting soon. I've had enough of Vince's repackaged decades-old meatloaf. LU is the Angus steak. | steven87gill

This is true, the problem however is despite the product having been garbage for some time, all it took was one slightly less-than-shit TLC & Raw for harcore fans to then be able to use that as an excuse to keep watching (since they were going to keep watching anyway) The problem for the WWE is that since 2001 they have been slowly losing the casual fan base they so badly need. They are very much a niche now, & if VKM, Steph & HHH are happy with that, then that's fine i guess. But then it'll be *another* ten years of a very slow & gradual decline for WWE that no one notices until it's too late. At what point does a don't rock the boat strategy become suicidal?

What if it goes like the end of the Age of the Fall, though? They come back a month later, start the next episode with their "yay we're back" routine and Reigns Superman punches them out of existence one week after they came back? | PowerPB13

I read your post just before I got to watch Raw, and that was cool. However the ten people chanting then switched to 'Briemode' so yeah, WTF
The problem with Slammy shows is that the ceremonies really take the flow out of anything they can do. It'd be much better off as a WWE Network thing, or just an hour show or whatever where it's just the ceremony. The things they did weren't bad just switching momentum constantly made it long imo.

| #16 Posted on 26.12.15 1210.06 Reposted on: 26.12.22 1211.37 | From a kayfabe standpoint, Nikki should've been Diva of the Year. She was Diva's champ the vast majority of the year, set the new record for title reign length and was leader of one of the three major Diva factions towards the second half of the year. She also obviously leapfrogged her sister to the point where Brie would get beat up while Nikki stayed protected, when it used to be the other way around.
I fully believe she won because most of the people who vote on these things are marks and because the Bellas are very active and engaged with a specific portion of the fanbase (young girls) who are far more social media savvy than most of the rest of the WWE Universe. Nikki Bella sells a LOT of t-shirts.
That said, I think they'll get eclipsed by Bayley on that front when she comes up, as she's just tailor made for that demographic and will surely steal a lot of their hearts. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
