Not to argue with internet memes, but the first time she runs into Kylo Ren, she's sure believes she's in complete danger and pretty definitely loses.

And who the hell cares what Max "whines like a bitch about how people don't want original ideas, proceeds to remake The Long Kiss Goodnight with stoners" Landis says about anything? Fuck him in the ass with a loaded grenade launcher, then pull the trigger.

Twice.

Yeah, Max also rearranges the point to make his own. His Death of Superman, makes no sense. Death was already destroyed in comics before Sups did it. He also missed the entire year without a Superman which created new heroes and villains like Steel who is one of the few African American characters in comics. After viewing the Sups one, I realized that, its a some guy who knows some famous people and wants to be an internet star. So, him bashing Star Wars to get more internet famous is not a surprise.

Rey is not Cena. Rey actually cares about the people around her. That is how Kylo hurts her more than any physical pain. She is an emotional character and does lose things along the way to get to her goal. Cena has never lost anything that he hasn't gotten back within a year. Rey is not getting Han back and I am thinking her relationship with Finn maybe doomed. Like Luke, she is going to lose some stuff to become a Jedi if that is something she even wants.

Someone on Twitter said Matt Damon's character on The Martian is a "Mary Sue"... good at everything. Never in danger. But I still liked that movie a lot. So what.

I loved this movie. I don't care too much about different layers of plot points and holes. It was just a bunch of Star Wars guys doing Star Wars shit. It had the spirit of the original movies and none of the Senate meetings or joy riding of giant ticks of the prequels. The air battles were a real joy, and old Han Solo might be even better than young Han Solo. It made me feel the way I felt watching the originals for the first time. I wasn't sure that was possible.

This might be the reason I go see it. I never saw the three prequels and still have no desire to. Watching the original three as a kid was just magical. If this movie is like those, I just may have to go see it next week.

The family (me, wife, 15 yr old stepson and our 6 year old son), went and saw ti this afternoon. I stayed spoiler free going in to the movie, except I had heard Han and Leia had a kid.

I was prepping our son for this by watching the original three. He was PUMPED to go see this. It did not disappoint. (Walking out of the theater, he said: That was GREAT!) A Star Wars movie about Star Wars stuff. We had that obligatory person sitting at the back of the theater who would clap loudly every time one of the originals would appear on screen.

Also, watching the original three the past couple of days, it is AMAZING how bad the acting was by all of them.

I took my 11 year old to see it tonight and it was really really good. I even thought it was a good movie as a stand alone. Not Best Movie material, but really good.

Two thoughts:

1. I just LOVED seeing Han Solo one last time. He was and always will be my favorite Star Wars character. And he was awesome.

2. I have no idea what the big deal was with Carrie Fisher. I thought she looked really good for someone who is almost 60. I have no idea why anybody would rail on her for her looks. People have crazy standards.

Thumbs up. Will be seeing it again next week with my 12 year old, who was sick tonight.

Finally got off my ass and went to go see this. I was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. My least favorite part was seeing old man Han Solo (that is a character designed to die before he ever got old), and my most favorite part is at the end, where they very explicitly remind you that a Jedi's weapon isn't the lightsaber, it's the Force. Also thought that all the leads were really good, and the girl who played Rey is going to be a real breakout, I think. Heck, the character is going to be a huge breakout, but she's the Jedi, so I don't think I get any points for guessing that. Finally, I don't have enough good things to say about the dogfights. They were well-shot so that you could always tell what was going on and you could always see everything that was happening, and they were genuinely thrilling. This thing's got its hooks in me deep for for the next one.

Date night with the husband and we went to see it the way I believe movies should be seen: in a small movie house, not a mega multiplex.

It was okay. I didn't think it was anything to get excited about but everyone's mileage may vary.
