Also, as a child of the 70s and 80s, all the Muppets sound weird to me, and not just 'cause I'm going deaf. I'll continue to give it a shot on the DVR but don't know if it'll ever get upgraded to "destination live viewing" for me. Promote this thread! | | pieman

| #3 Posted on 23.9.15 1525.50 Reposted on: 23.9.22 1528.43 | It felt like a cross between 30 Rock and the Office (but the last two seasons of the Office, unfortunately).
The actual concept of the show is really strong, updating the "Muppet Show" to a late-night talk show hosted by Miss Piggy. Lots of natural fits for the characters (Kermit producing, Fozzy the sidekick/warmup act, Gonzo the head writer, Sam the network standards and practices guy, the Electric Mayhem as the house band, etc.) and the documentary gimmick works fine. Let's just hope the execution smooths out a bit in the coming weeks or years. | Matt Tracker

| #6 Posted on 23.9.15 1754.17 Reposted on: 23.9.22 1754.35 | I really enjoyed it. Mainly served its first episode role of letting us know who is who (or who does what, since we know who they are) and got some plot points going.
Granted, I think everything Muppets is awesome (excluding "Muppets From Space," which sucks), and I have enjoyed the Disney-owned Muppets of the last few years.
I hope it lasts, just because it'll work more towards bringing the Muppets back to relevancy.
According to EW.com, it had a good ratings night. "The Muppets had 8.9 million viewers and a 2.8 rating among adults 18–49 at 8 p.m., and the two-hour Scream Queens opener had only 4 million viewers and a 1.7 rating (rising from a 1.6 in the preliminary report)."

| #7 Posted on 23.9.15 2031.03 Reposted on: 23.9.22 2043.51 | Honestly, watch Scream the MTV version. I liked, but I think some people forgot the appeal to the original Muppets was the over the head jokes. The other was the magic. They have perhaps gone too far in one direction. I did love Banks vs. Scooter though.
Pilots tend to be just ok. So, it should get better. My third year old liked it. | Mr Heel II

As for "Muppets", I was howling at Fozzie's "meet the parents" dinner date and the whole salmon thing.
I liked it, but it's done once "The Flash" starts back up in two weeks. | lotjx

I feel the exact opposite after Flash's completely selfish and ultimately useless actions in the finale. On top of the fact the multiverse like it does in the comics will eventually fuck things up. Having said that, the podcast will continue. | KJames199

On the hand, I did watch The Grinder and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't stink. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
