There was just so much cool stuff about this show, not the least of which was the unique Mall of America setting. Man, it'd be great to see an NXT show set here.
The other big memories: -The Pillman/Lyger opener -LEX LUGER puts the screws to Vince McMahon, which he will regret in about six years -Scott Norton shows up out of nowhere; immediately gets into a brawl with Randy Savage -The amazingly ill-advised Pastamania! -The show-ending face-to-face between Hogan and Luger. Oh, that "I am TIRED of playing around with KIDS!" is one of the most underrated bridge-burning quotes ever.

| #2 Posted on 4.9.15 1250.08 Reposted on: 4.9.22 1252.52 | I remember all the hype leading up to it. It was pretty strong and then I was shocked when Nitro was added to the TNT show ads they do. My initial reaction from what I vaguely remember Lex being there was odd. This was prior to my internet days, insert CRZ snide remark here, so I had no idea he quit WWF. I just thought it was more odd than anything else. The confrontation at the end was big. Sadly, it really didn't lead to Hogan/Lex or the MegaPowers vs. The MegaBros.
As much people shit on Lex or WCW booking, the look Sting and Flair had on their faces when they see him is nuts. It was great to have a guy who was a former Horsemen and former Sting Buddy come into that match. Whoever wrote that was a genius.

Nitro did SO many things right in the first year; I still love to watch some of those early episodes back. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
