Since WWE went to the trouble of actually making a mock statue, maybe it would've been cooler to reveal it painted with Sting makeup?
It would be great if Cena is continually screwed out of the world title by various people acting on Flair's behalf, only to have Flair come out every time and act all "no no, I like Cena, really, he's cool" until it becomes more and more overtly disingenuous. This will ultimately lead to a match between Cena and....uh, Charlotte? Ok, the plan needs some work.

He was probably all puffed with pride in the back with his family by his side for the big unveiling only for us to get an old man in sweaty face paint.
We're headlining back to back PPV with a match featuring a 50+ year old! Nice job with that new talent.
I also feel bad for the Divas ... and the sad end to New Days trombone bit.

I doubt it's Sting's last match (unless he has a horrific career-ending injury). I watched a video where HHH booked the match with Sting and Rollins, but I didn't see him say that it was for the title. Since it's Night of Champions, I'm assuming it's a title match, but they haven't used those words yet.
Look, I'm a Sting mark and after losing to HHH, I'm perfectly fine with breaking the monotony and giving Sting a month long or even 24-hour reign because screw it, it's not like Rollins is Brock Lesnar and he's beatable. I'm sure Sting would get the full benefit of Cena and Flair's help. Sheamus could also cash in so they can get rid of that stupid briefcase. | Big Bad

This is just New Day's world and we're all living in it. They are absolute must-see TV now. I haven't had this much fun with a tag team since Edge & Christian.
I also love bringing the Dudleyz back, just because of how much it reinvigorates the tag division in a single stroke. I do, however, feel really bad for the guys I used to refer to as the Prime Time Losers. The PTPs have absolutely earned the chance to be the division's top babyface team with both Titus and Darren improving exponentially. If they become an afterthought in all this, it'll truly be a shame. | Stefonics

My thoughts coming through your fingers. I have no problem with this because if they're going to do one (HA!) show a year where a legend gets to work a main event, it should be Night of Champions. Give the belt to Sting. Cena can come out the following Monday night to congratulate him and then immediately tell him that he never got his rematch from SummerSlam, so he's invoking his rematch clause later that night. Number 16. Rollins then beats Cena at Hell in a Cell and we're back to where we are now, two months in the future.
It really sucks that two Raw crowds in a row shit on women's matches. Unfortunately, Vince/Dunn/etc will see it as, "See! I was right about women's wrestling! No one cares! Give me a hog pen lingerie pillow fight!" instead of for what it is: fans don't get invested in things that they aren't given any reason to be invested in. It's a writing and booking problem, not a women's wrestling problem. The NXT co-main from this past weekend should be exhibit A of that, but Vince doesn't watch that shit.
The most interesting thing they could do with Flair/Cena is to have Flair help Cena get to 16 and then have Flair do anything and everything to keep him at 16. If he never loses, he will never get the chance to break Flair's record. | Spiraling_Shape

| #16 Posted on 25.8.15 0651.02 Reposted on: 25.8.22 0653.46 | I've read some people say that it was OK that Cena AAed Stewart because Stewart cost him the match. That's not really the way a good guy is supposed to do things. John Cena remains the WWEs biggest bully. Special mention goes to the faces (and wow, there was a really noticeable jocks versus schmoes theme in that match) who teamed up on the guy who not only won them the match but also got beat up by his own teammates.
It was maybe two Flair podcasts ago (the mailbag one) where Ric said he'd be fine with Cena breaking his record. Maybe Jon Stewart wasn't hip to the WOOOOO! Nation. But it does make me wonder if the person who asked the question was Vince.
Is this the first time in recent wrestling history where a face who was escorted out didn't come back by the end of the show?
Poor Bo.
The faster they can get the Bellas out of the title picture the better. Has Nikki broken AJ's record yet?

John Cena 15x World Champion and Randy Orton 13x World Champion sounds impressive and is true, but this company had two World Title belts for years that were never really equal anyways. It won't be remembered that way years from now and it is splitting hairs, but Flair's World Titles and whichever future star gets to the teens will always be a more impressive feat.

Of course even the number of 16 is the WWE approved number (I believe it could go as high as 20 plus) to begin with. | lotjx

| #19 Posted on 25.8.15 0741.49 Reposted on: 25.8.22 0741.55 | Even I, the most cynical of fans, found this show to be awesome. To start things off with a Heyman promo is always good. Then we get New Day getting destroyed by the Dudleys. Now, it gets muddy. The Divas Revolution is turning into its Alamo. The Bellas are just awful. Now, this is not a popular opinion and caused a bit of tweeter storm between myself, Johnny O, the Bellas, Paige and well every WWE fan on twitter. The level of spite this company goes to is one of the reasons they have a shitty track record. Regardless, the ladies shouldn't blame the fans, they should blame the dumb ass creative team who thought Nikki is good and their writing was ok.
Cena is a not a Star. I also love the idea of Flair playing the long con with Cena. Yet, that is too great of an idea for a company that had those women's segments. The Wyatts needed another member and this dude looks good enough. I was hoping Brock would come out and suplex the statue instead what we got was better. Sting in a title match. This makes his lose to HHH look even more stupid.
Sting probably won't win or at least get the title. They really need to get the money in the bank thing off of Sheamus, because he is just not connecting with the fans or any level. Rollins has really stepped his game up of late, so taking the belt off of him would be silly.
The big take away for me from Raw is what is the end game for Brock and Heyman. They seem to acknowledging waiting til Mania is a bad idea. Owens is a work horse for this week. Stardust is a nice level of Chaotic Evil. The Dudley Boyz is a great choice, because there are no veterans in that tag division. For one night, WWE put on a good to great Raw, a virtual miracle after months of ok to shit episodes.
