All right, this one's coming to you from the road and in a hurry, so hopefully I don't forget or mess up too much stuff.

Show starts with new champion Finn Balor heading to the ring. He's mostly out to celebrate, but also they want everybody to know that there's a contract signing between him and KO later tonight.

Eva Marie's backstage. She's talking about showing the world what she can do in her debut match, which is next. I'm not super convinced.

Eva Marie vs. Some Jobber. This match is bad. No, Eva Marie is bad. Whoever told me she was going to be better than expected is a liar and a bad person. She is literally the worst wrestler I've ever seen, and this is the single worst match I've ever seen. I'm actually going to give props to Cassie, the jobber, because she does everything in her power to sell and get this woman over. It does not work. End comes when Eva Marie hits a Sliced Bread #2, if you're being charitable. If you're not being charitable, it ends when Cassie back suplexes Eva Marie so that it looks like Eva Marie did something.
Match Rating: I Am Not Being Charitable.

Okay, next match. It's...Baron Corbin vs. Some Jobber.
Match Rating: Are You Kidding Me?

Okay, okay, next match. It's...Samoa Joe vs. Some Jobber.
Match Rating: FUCK YOU.

Okay, okay, okay, next match. It's... Bayley vs. Emma. Now we're cooking. This is a pretty great match. It highlights both Emma's meanstreak, as well as Bayley's determination. Dana Brooke tries to interfere, but she does it right in front of the ref. Instead of getting the DQ, the ref lets it go and instead just ejects Dana. That's enough for Bayley. She gets a rally going and hits the Belly to Bayley for the win.
Match Rating: FINALLY.

The final segment tonight is the contract signing. It's fairly by-the-numbers: Regal gets interrupted by Owens, Owens runs down Balor, Balor shrugs it off, both guys sign, Regal initials the contract for approval (I always love that touch). Of course, then things break down. KO goes after Balor, and manhandles Regal when he tries to break it up. Balor's no soft target, though, and he winds up getting the best of Owens, sending him off with his tail between his legs.

Sorry for how short this is. Let me know if I left out anything egregious.

Alexa Bliss saved the Benoit Twins from having to cut their own promo. Pretty nice of her.

I would even go so far as to call the person who insisted she was okay a butt person. Seriously, Eva Marie makes Brie Bella look good. Think about that. Was that the plan all along? To make the Bellas seem better by comparison? Were the women of NXT getting too popular and they had to take the division down a peg?

More importantly, you did make quite the egregious error in leaving out the match my beloved Vaudvillians had against Dawkins and Fulton. Gotch did this crazy move where he hits Fulton with his foot. I know you must think I mean Gotch kicks him, but no, "hit with foot" is the only way to describe this. It's some real DDP yoga shit.

The jobber against Corbin had something written on his tights, but the match was over before I figured out what it was.

That's KC Cassidy, graduate of Storm Wrestling Academy and brand new NXT signee. That's three Lance Storm trained wrestlers on the current NXT roster. Stable time?

I didn't watch NXT, so this is a legitimate question. Have you seen Kaitlyn vs Maxine?

It was by no means a good match. Eva Marie still has a long ways to go before she can be considered mediocre, but this was a definite improvement on the last time I saw an Eva Marie match. Admittedly, that's still like saying eating a cat shit sandwich is better than eating a dog shit sandwich, but I'm in a remarkably good mood this morning and looking at everything with a glass half full perspective. I'm sure that will change shortly. Depends how long my daughter insists on watching Teletubbies on Netflix for.

Putting Eva Marie's NXT re-debut match in the worst match of all time is a slight overstatement. Now putting in as worst match of the past year is totally appropriate. Me thinks they rushed her return to the ring. At least she doesn't sell a bump in the ring like she's laying down for a nap.

Bayley, Sasha and Emma are the last three veteran Divas (wrestling on NXT pre-network) left on NXT, until Sasha drops the title and inevitably gets permanently moved to the main roster in about 2 months. They have to carry the Eva's and the Dana's of Florida.....the women's division is gonna do a Freaky Friday soon.

Also did no one notice how much better Samoa Joe's music sounds now? It's got the nice mix of thundering chants, bass, and New York hardcore hip hop I was asking for.

We've been spoiled.

I think that people forget that NXT, despite all of the top tier talent currently there, is still a developmental system. There are going to be green wrestlers, incomplete wrestlers, and downright terrible wrestlers. That's the entire point of the system - to build and develop. At some point these talents are going to be on the TV.

Look at Dana. Her character work is *amazing*, but her wrestling skills need to be developed. So NXT will improve the latter, while letting her showcase the former. For Eva Marie, she obviously has a presence (tremendous heat given by the crowd), but there's no denying she has put the work in, and seems to be continuing to put the work in. It's not like she has to, she could be used as a valet or something. Plus this is one set of tapings, she has several weeks to continue to improve.

tl-dr, cut people some slack.

I didn't see Kaitlyn/Maxine, but I would say that this match was worse than the Jackie Gayda fiasco. I'm not saying it's the worst match of all time, but it's definitely say that it's the worst I've seen, or at least the worst that I can remember.

Once again, I want to point out that there are a lot of people down in the Performance Center not getting tv time, and that if Eva Marie is this far from ready, she's got no business even being on the developmental show. Give her spot to Cassie instead of making Cassie put her over. Cassie's better than she is.

Biggest difference; Eva Marie has already had a lot of investment put into her - WWE likely wants a return on said investment. She's going to be on TV with Total Divas, and likely wants her to be a solid wrestler to capitalize on that investment while having her - you know, actually being good at wrestling.

Besides, Charlotte was terrible for some weeks while being on TV. She turned out alright.

I understand what you're saying, but we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I think it's fine they are putting out green folks on the developmental territory TV.

I think I disagree with everyone!

- Total Divas is an end to itself, not a build up device. Eva Marie will make more money for WWE as the misunderstod model turned aspiring wrestler than she probably every will in all the actual wrestling programs together. In WWE Corporate, Eva Marie is a reality show character who's character happens to be a wrestler. There's no build up because there's little cross over audience between Total Divas and the rest of the WWE programming. (This board seems like a little proof of that, since it seems we've all given up watching Total Divas, but it's still doing the same numbers as Tough Enough.)

- if Eva Marie is going to be an aspiring wrestler, she's got to actually wrestle. And they're not going to put her on RAW now, so NXT it is. The whole NXT storyline is just about trying to make it work for their needs, but I assume the reason these matches are happening is because Total Divas needs that footage (and story arc) of Eva Marie starting to wrestle. It has nothing to do with her merits as a wrestler versus Cassie's or anyone else's, it's simply that Eva Marie is over on Total Divas and so they need to keep coming up with new stuff for her. If it turns on Eva Marie gets good, or even decent, that's a great bonus, but her job is to be a Total Divas star.

You really should.

For the first couple of minutes, you'll wonder what's so offensively bad about it. Then they start taking long pauses to call moves. Then they have the worst finishing sequence in the history of professional wrestling, starting with a botched reverse atomic drop.

In Kaitlynn's defense, she'd started training as a wrestler about two months before this and she was wearing a bulky hoodie, that was a storyline requirement, not a personal choice. She wasn't even supposed to be on NXT and was a last second replacement after another woman was fired after the show had already started to air.

In Maxine's defense, she just sucked. Although she's now one of the most compelling characters in wrestling. Coincidentally or not, she doesn't wrestle at all.

Watching this match back in the day, I wouldn't have pegged Alicia Fox to be the last diva standing in the WWE.

Sometimes you just have to keep at it. Maria is the perfect example of a pretty model who looked out of place in wrestling for YEARS, but she stuck with it and only became the best second/manager in wrestling. So, it can happen. I also have a hard time killing anyone who is really working on getting better even if the gains seem minimal. I think she will get better just by how much her presence and body language has improved.

I fell like the big difference between Dana Brooke and Eva Marie is perception. The announcers WANT to put Dana Brooke over so much as a wrestler, and she's pretty terrible. The Eva Marie storyline is great so far...and they made her have a TRYOUT match for Regal and Sara Del Rey before she got an NXT match, which they referenced on the show. They KNOW Eva Marie isn't good yet, but they are in denial over Dana Brooke.

Maybe I came around too late to the NXT thing (I've only been consistently watching for a couple of months), but I think Bayley isn't very good, either. Maybe a match with Charlotte will bring out something I haven't seen before, and I'm looking forward to seeing that.

If I had to power rank the NXT women off the top of my head based on how they look in the ring and how much I'd like to see them, I think it would go like this. (Not counting any of the Raw call-ups.)

1. Emma
2. Cassie/Jessie (I can't tell them apart.)
3. Jessie/Cassie (The other one.)
4. Bayley
5. Alexa Bliss
6. Carmella
7. Eva Marie
8. Dana Brooke

This! Now that's unique offense. Graves on commentary was flabbergasted by the technical ability of the move. Definitely different.
