Bryan appeared on the Cheap Heat podcast recently (this week? last week?) and talked about how WWE wants him to comeback, but they also genuinely have his best interests at heart. Then he goes on to explain that there are mixed opinions about what's best for him.
DANIEL BRYAN: If there is one doctor, who is like the 'SuperBowl neurologist', like he's excellent at what he does, and he says "No, I have no problems clearing you with no limitations", then I don't see why I cant.
PODCAST HOST: It's not like you were cleared by the Simpsons doctor.
DBRY: (Laughs) Yeah, it's not like I just have some guy who's my buddy who HAPPENS to be a doctor. But then they [WWE] have their side too. It's a very complex issue.
