I guess I'm just spoiled by most of the marvel movies, where what is on screen looks like what is in the comic. I don't agree with the casting, I hate the way Joker looks, why is Joker such a hard guy to put in a film Just look at the 89 Batman Movie and make that Joker. He doesn't need grills, or ink to be a villain The joker is a psychopath who makes bad joke and kills people that's all you need.
Sorry I went on a bit of a rant there, anyway I'm most likely not going to pay to watch this I might watch it if I get a free rental code when it's in Redbox. | Wpob

And I agree with CruelAngel - Robbie and Leto will make or break this film/franchise. It the movie is a hit, it will be because of them.
And yes, I too would pay to watch Viola Davis read the phone book. She is one of the greats.
The only negative I see here is Will Smith. I can't stand him and I have no idea why he agreed to do this movie. I hope his utter lack of acting ability does not ruin this movie. I also hope his screen time is limited. | StingArmy

He's certainly put up some clunkers lately with some of the movies he's chosen to do, but "utter lack of acting ability?" The man has been nominated for some Golden Globes and at least one Oscar that I can recall. That has to count for something, no?

Personal opinion. That's all. I find his acting poor. Especially his later movies.
I find if you look at his films, most of them are just him being himself. That's not acting.

So, because he's a father, his performance wasn't outstanding?

This is a fair point, but what was said in this thread (and I do think this is more than just pure semantics) is that Will Smith utterly lacks acting ability. That is on the verge of being objectively provably false. If Wpob said he just doesn't like Will Smith... well, there's not much of an argument you could make against someone's subjective opinion. But it's pretty indefensible to say he can't act. Not the same thing.
I don't even get the "he's a father" thing. Are all fathers the same? You think Will Smith the father goes through ANYTHING in his life as a mega-rich celebrity father that Chris Gardner had to go through as a broke, homeless, single dad?
