This is the reason (kinda) why the AP stopped allowing their poll to be part of the BCS formula. They felt that they could not create the news and cover it at the same time.
ESPN is in this position of being a partner with leagues that they air on their networks. There is no way can do their news coverage justice without alienating their partners.
