An optional fan-chosen/designed cover (Bryan in '12) would also be nice. But ultimately, it really doesn't matter who's on the cover as long as the game isn't as mind-numbingly disappointing as last year's.

Journey will be ported to July 21st. It's Cross Buy - you probably already own it if you've had a PS3 the last couple years. Will play again (for the free trophy run, and also it's good.)
Showtime has been added to Playstation Vue for $11/month (so, Vue continues to be the thing you can get if you want few cable channels for the same price as cable but without giving Comcast your money.)
I heard Rocket League, the most hyped PS+ game this month, is already out in the store - but now there's some issue with PSN so I can't get the store to work. Maybe later.

This week's PSN update. I like how Rocket League is priced at $20 so it feels like I'm saving a lot of money by paying for on PS+. It's pretty light on other games, or games that pop up enough fo rme to wriet something.

Cubs, do you know, or have you read, why Onechanbara: Z2 was delayed from the end of June? My boyfriend had a deposit on it at GameStop and then we found out the original release day it was pushed back. Yet now it's cheaper on PSN compared to the stores (so we might go that route and try to put the deposit on the One Piece game coming out next month). But the guy at GameStop had no clue why it was pushed back, only that they found out about it a few days before the initial release.

Looking around, it sounds like the June date was just a place holder dummy date ("by the end of Q2" often turns up as the end of June), July 21st was the planned release date, and the placeholder date just never got fixed. I didn't see anything on the price but I wonder if maybe it's the same thing - it just didn't get the usual care to fix that sort of thing because it was an import.

Well that makes sense, thanks! Our local GameStop people are usually pretty good, so it's weird when they're clueless about something.
Finally got 2 of the discounted cards, so we are PS+ set for awhile.

King's Quest - and all the Sierra games of that period - were important to me growing up. There's some personal irony for it to return on this particular day of the year. Kotaku seemed to like it a bit, Polygon felt it had promise but the execution was a bit off. I'm leery buying season passes when you don't really know what (or when) you'll get the rest, but this Complete Collection includes an epilogue which won't be sold separate, and is about $10 cheaper than getting them games individually anyway. I'll probably talk myself into buying the whole thing at some point.

Next month's PS+
- Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris (PS4) - reviews say "fun as co-op, weak as single player, on the short side" - Limbo (PS4) - had really strong reviews (so you may have bought it) - Sound Shapes (PS4/PS3/PS Vita) - - Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones (PS4/PS4/PS Vita) - God of War Ascension (PS3) - CastleStorm (PS3, PS Vita)

Kotaku UK feeds my addiction to Playstation Home longform pieces with interviews with people who worked on the project. They tried to get to the bottom of why it lasted so long, and really couldn't totally figure it out. It made money, but even the people running had no idea why other people were buying all that stuff.
I'm pretty sure I've spent more time reading about Playstation Home than I ever did using it.

The PSN blog has a good No Man's Sky explainer, enough to know what you're getting it. They have 41 points.
- The universe isn’t stored on your hard disk or on server somewhere (the PS4 creates it based on a formula, which means it doesn't need to save anything but you don't need to be online.) - There isn’t a story to follow "There are no cutscenes or characters, but there is a big objective: getting to the center of the universe. We don’t want to tell you a story, we want you to tell your own. No Man’s Sky is about your journey."
It seems a little Simcity-ish. Going to wait on reviews before buying.
