Well, it looks like no one wanted to do an NXT thread in my absence this week. Because I'd hate to see a week go by with no thread to accompany it, I put together this very short recap.

The show opened with a full tribute to Dusty Rhodes, complete with it's own ten-bell salute. Sami Zayne was even present to pay his respects.

Following that, Hideo Itami came out to promote the big show in Tokyo, but he winds up getting into it with Kevin Owens, who still maintains that he had nothing to do with the attack. He gets fed up with Itami in short order, though, so Balor has to make the save. Unfortunately, he gets cut off by Rhyno to set up the night's main event.

Enzo and Cass got a quick win over Jason Jordan and his new, impermanent partner, Sylvester Laforte, and then (ugh)Dana Brooke and the (sigh)Hype Bros squashed some jobbers in their respective matches. In between was part two of the Finn Balor retrospective. It was good, but not as good as part one. It kind of glossed over a lot of time. Part three is next week, and it looks like it'll be pretty great.

Main event was Balor vs. Rhyno. KO came out to do commentary, but he was really putting it to the other commentators, and I thought it was really distracting this time around. Finish came when Owens tried to get involved, but Balor dealt with him and got the pin on Rhyno. Afterwards, KO and Rhyno teamed up to put the boots to him, and Samoa Joe made the save. Looks like next week's main event is set, just days before the big title match in Tokyo.

Good show, although a bit bare-bones. I suspect next week's "go home" show for the Tokyo title match will be pretty loaded, though.

Any video that shows Finn Balor and Sami Zayn hanging out and talking about Legos is pretty great as well.

Shit, you're right, I totally buried the lede on that one! That part was absolutely amazing.

I thought all the pics of Devitt and Matt Bloom in Japan were pretty cool too.

I think they had to give an abbreviated version of his time in Japan, unless they wanted to extensively use the term "Bullet Club".

Decent show. Also hated them telling Owens to go all modern day JBL on commentary. Wished he had just ignored all the comments and given subtly biased play by play instead.
