http://prowrestling.net/article.php?TNA-rumors-involving-Jeff-Jarrett-42851 Well this is just in the rumor stage but he almost bought majority interest in TNA a year and a half ago so who knows. Jarrett merging TNA and GFW would be interesting as TNA has a stacked upper card and GFW has some real good tag teams and mid card guys. Court Bauer has followed up by saying Jeff is backstage at the Impact Tapings so for once Impact could be much watch tv. Wonder if Jeff has a TV deal for GFW I'm guessing not yet.

Court actually very carefully said a wrestler friend backstage told him he had heard Jeff was backstage, but had not seen him. Which is a different thing.

Though it still seems like Jeff will be there.

A lot of the GFW guys were either in for only a few dates or specifically not doing TV - they may come, but can't be assumed to be coming.

Also, Jarrett was in TNA for many years and it wan't very must see. I hope it is this time! But 1 company with no TV deal and 1 company with a soon to end TV deal does not make much of a long term positive.

I don't understand the point. GFW draws next to nobody and just started and TNA draws next to nobody and is a name that is so tarnished that there is no reason to take it seriously. The tape library might be the only thing worth anything, so why won't people just let it die already?

I don't understand the point!

After hearing that promo I am sure Jarrett isn't buying TNA. I figure he was offered the same deal AJ turned down; show up, promote your company, wrestle in a match and be inducted into the TNA hall of fame.

The TNA name itself is so horribly damaged that it's indeed useless, but in taking over the wrestlers and the TV timeslot, Jarrett would essentially be just rebranding TNA --- something that has been sorely needed for years since 'TNA' is such a stupid name for a wrestling company.

I suspect that removing the name, Dixie Carter and (hopefully?) the Russo-esque influence on the creative team would help TNAGFW, though it's not like Jarrett was some brilliant head of the company during his years in charge.

Jeff Jarrett being backstage was just so that he could promote a one-night-only return in a King of the Mountain match at Slammerversary, as well as let people know about GFW. Hopefully now that they're back on speaking terms TNA will stop pretending Jarrett's influence on the company never existed, and yeah, he'll probably end up in the Hall of Fame. If TNA does go down, it's possible JJ could end up grabbing most of their main event guys, those that don't go to RoH, New Japan or elsewhere. A merger seems unlikely, but who knows?

Poop in your hand.

Now poop in your other hand.

Now smash the poops together.

Do you really have something better?

*rolls eyes* Your hatred of TNA is making you foolish. There are lots of talented guys in TNA, it's not their fault their company isn't doing a good job promoting them. Yeah, guys like Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Lashley and Kurt Angle are 'poop'. Yeah, Knockouts who could tie the most skilled Diva in knots with one arm tied behind their back are 'poop'.

The problem, as usual, is with the management, not with the talent. Angle alone, even past his prime, is a hell of a centerpiece to build an upper card around.

Have you been paying attention for the last 10+ years? There were lots of talented guys in TNA when Jarrett was running things the last time around too. Who or what can you point to today that would convince someone that HAS been paying attention that things would be any different THIS time around?

You also cant ignore the fact that one of those handfuls of poop is barely even off the ground as a company and the other handful of poop has some pretty big financial and public perception holes to dig itself out of. I see very little reason to be optimistic about the combo-poop's chances to succeed.

Pwiinsider says Jarrett isn't buying TNA and Meltzer says we may have a GFW invasion angle. Meltzer also says Magnus is leaving TNA for GFW. Magnus was the ring ka King champ years ago so Jarrett's always been high on him. Oh and ring ka King was pretty awesome.

TNA is doing their TV taping for many weeks these few days before the PPV. Don't want to spoil things, but they're thru the first part of the 07/29 episode and there's zero GFW presence and zero Jarretts. Maybe it comes down the road, but there's not much road left.

These times a billion times a billion.

Times infinity.

I don't have blind hatred for TNA I'm just sick of watching it circle the drain and drag talented guys along with it.

Die.

Get better (No more Double J, no more Dixie, no more Russo)

One of the two, but it apparently will do neither.

TNA has been teetering on a ledge and loudly denying it for so long that it's almost impossible not to root for it to fall and get it over with because it won't acknowledge the situation and get off the ledge.

Looks like the rats are jumping off the sinking ship with Low Ki, Shaw and Gunner gone and with rumors of Storm and Magnus being on the out. I agree Ring King was a great promotion and I'm a Jarrett fan so I'm interested in what GFW will be.

Austin Aries contract is up in a few days and he's not re-signing with the company by all accounts. By the time september comes and they are kicked off Destination America they'll have barely any wrestlers under contract.

Storm & Magnus are leaving, and add Taryn Terrell and Amazing Kong to those gone after tonight's show. Also, Kurt Angle has a health issue (revealed during the upcoming TV shows) which means he'll be gone for a while too. These names keep tricking out, it's possible there's more to surface.

The deal is TNA is slashing their offers to everyone who's contract has come up, and everyone's just said no.

Presumably, they're all coming up now because TNA signed a lot of people to short term deals during the move from Spike to Destination America while they tried to figure out what they could afford to pay everyone. Now that they know, it's not good news.

*If* TNA lives past their last scheduled tapings in July, it's going to look a lot different than it does now. The taping results show a lot of people who were on the fringes of the roster (and probably being paid accordingly) suddenly being thrust into bigger positions.

Kong and Taryn are disputing Meltzer's report and Bob Ryder says that they are signed until December and March respectively and he's going hard after Meltz. He is pretty much TNA's Baghdad Bob.
