| #1 Posted on 8.6.15 2144.28 Reposted on: 8.6.22 2146.42 | I saw this today as one of my friends got a sneak peek and said it was hysterical. And while I loved McCarthy in "Heat" with Sandra Bullock, I have not really laughed at any of her movies where she was the lead (Tammy and Identity Thief).
I had low expectations but went anyway. And it was worth it.
Funny movie. Laughed more than enough times to forget how many times I laughed. Well written, well paced and well acted. Good stuff all around from everyone, including McCarthy. She played her role straight when called for and over the top when needed. And she was really good.
But the absolute best part of the whole movie was Jason Statham. Even if you hate McCarthy, go see this for him. He was hysterical. I can only imagine how many takes they had to do during any of his scenes because of how good he was.
If you are a McCarthy fan, you will love this movie. If you are not, it is still worth it for Statham and the rest of the supporting cast.

Plus, Miranda Hart is great.

I liked how McCarthy and Rose Byrne's characters just tore into each other with the insults. You just don't see women get to be that a-holish to each other in movies.
I just watched The Heat today and there were similarities. The f-bombs in both become tiresome. Less can be more.
