| #1 Posted on 16.3.15 0516.13 Reposted on: 16.3.22 0516.34 | So it turns out that the problem with Alexandria is not that they're a bunch of a secretly murdering psychopaths (save for maybe Jessie's husband - I forget his name, but I think it's Zombiefood) - but rather that they're incompetent, cowardly dolts who have no unearthly idea as to what they are doing and all their bravado is largely an act. It seems that Rick et al will be able to take over without firing a shot or physically threatening a single person. I think Deanna knows that her people are entirely unprepared for the things that are out there - if they can't even deal with zombies, then wait until the starting meeting other people - but she also needs to keep Rick at bay without provoking him.
There's a nice little allegory here about the hypocrisy and illusions of safety within middle class, suburban life, and the issues that arise when you start peeling back the layers.
Noah's death.... WHOOO DOGGY. The AV Club felt it was way over the top and counterproductive - I'm not sure I agree - but it was arguably the most gruesome thing I've ever seen on a TV show (even HBO). I think this is part of a much larger arch for Glen. It's just unfortunate that it happened to a character that was just starting to develop and was genuinely likeable. ('Everyone Ate Chris') And it kind of renders Beth's death even more pointless.
I have no idea where Gabriel's storyline is going - at all - but I like the rebuilding of Eugene.
I'm going to try to figure way of incorporating 'mother dick' and 'fax to Cleveland' in my everyday slang. | Promote this thread! | | Dawg

I agree that the Alexandrians are cowards but that must be what helped them to survive so long. Someone is under attack, run save yourselves! Gabriel fits in perfectly, he did the same thing to survive so long. Hell, our ancient ancestors survived by being cowards, eh? We're all cowards.
Noah's death wasn't that bad was it? Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention but wasn't it on par with Aidan's death earlier in the episode? Perhaps it was the close ups.

Still, that guy had to squat in the treeline? Alone? Really?
Noah's death would have been more shocking had we not seen Aiden's death in such detail. But the use of the revolving door was brilliant.
Carol telling Rick he had to kill Pete confused me -- Carol can't do that -- until I remembered her pretense. It was such an odd show with that McMansion setting. It could have been any soap opera.
I don't want to like Eugene, and I might never, but I can appreciate his shift from useless to survivor. Gabriel is doing the same in the only way he can.

It was bad. Aiden was just getting chewed on his body like every other victim we see. Noah had his cheek ripped in half with blood gushing out his his jaw - that was kinda beyond the pale.
I don't know what the clinical term for it is, but Carol has gone "bye-bye". She is stone cold evil now.
The preview for the next episode showed four graves. I could see ones for Noah, Aiden (even though what's left of his body is back at the warehouse) and Nicholas (same). But is the fourth one for Tara? I'd be disappointed to see her go. | StaggerLee

Rick just meandering through the episode was odd. A brief flirtation, then nothing really?
I wonder when Maggie confronts Gabriel, or if she tells Glen, who tells Rick, who.........
Aiden's death was similar to so many others we've seen, but Noah... that was brutal. From the first burst of blood soaking his shirt, to his cheek being ripped off as he stared helplessly at Glen. Just brutal. Makes me wonder why Glen didn't shoot either one to put them out of their misery. (Or at least Noah).
Abraham just completely going Rambo and then taking control of the work site was a thing of beauty. I never liked his character, but he won me over.
Please let Tara live. She's my secret crush on the show.

Aiden's death was way worse than just getting chewed on. Did you not see the walkers reach INTO his stomach and start pulling out/eating his guts???? | griff

Yeah, I had forgotten about the entrails and all. I guess I just thought tearing into a person's face seemed unusually more graphic than what we normally see. Aiden's death was gruesome, though. | Wpob

I am surprised Glenn did not shoot either of them, especially Aidan. At one point I was figuring he would shoot him from a distance to put him out of his misery.
As for Noah, there is no way he could shoot him as the walkers would have access to him then. The Noach death scene was more shocking as Glenn was forced to watch but more gruesome to me was Aidan.
As for the four graves, would they actually bury Aidan and Noah without bodies? I understand a grave and cross, but why dig a plot? I have to guess that four others get killed by walkers that sends the town into an immediate spiral and then civil war.

For me, Noah, pressed up against the glass, having his cheek and eye ripped out while screaming as Glenn was forced to watch was a much worse visual than Aiden's demise. But I don't think anyone would argue against either death being a fairly graphic affair.

When they got trapped in the door, there was a throw away line from Glenn that Nicholas had the ammo - so for Aiden, he was a goner and they really needed the ammo to get out. For Noah, I think Glenn was empty. | StaggerLee
