| #2 Posted on 27.2.15 1214.34 Reposted on: 27.2.22 1217.02 | We're watching it out of some kind of odd loyalty to Rainn Wilson, but I think the show is pretty 'meh'. It feels very much like an alcoholic Dwight trying to solve crimes. I keep waiting for Backstrom to say, 'FACT: You paid that man to kill your wife's lover' or some variation thereof.
I think it would benefit from being edgier and having a little more grit to it. It doesn't have to be 'True Detective', but I feel as though the tone of the show is all over the place. | Tenken347

The actors all tried really hard with what they were given, but the dialogue and scenarios were just really awkward and unbelievable. | Zeruel

Yeah, this is pretty close and now they have pushed two of the secondary characters into a love angle, eh. I like the Backstrom character, Valentine, Moto and Sgt. Almond. I don't expect this show to make a second season, but it;s okay. | Hokienautic

Yeah, the show is starting to feel a little bit like Rake -- starts off good and interesting, but then they throw way too much shit against the wall. You have Backstrom's former fiancee, his roommate's abuse history, the love angle, the secretive backstory of the blonde, Moto's goals, Almond's church, the obvious love angle still TK for Backstrom and his boss. And that's not even getting at the overarching question of WhatTF Is Wrong with Backstrom. Slow it down some. | Cerebus

I do think there are too many characters and they could get rid of two of three of them and make it a better show.
I also wanna add that I usually hate Rainn Wilson, but I find his character interesting. | DrDirt

My wife an I watched and both of us thought the same thing. It was okay and didn't feel like it was an hour of my life I would never get back but an hour later I was hard pressed to tell you much about it. | StaggerLee

| #10 Posted on 6.3.15 1323.27 Reposted on: 6.3.22 1329.01 | I have watched all the episodes so far and they really are jamming a lot of stuff into 8 episodes. Backstrom's father is on this week's episode and that's another whole new storyline. It won't be back for three weeks now, so cleansing the palate. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
