Roman Reigns in particular seems to be susceptible to bleeding from the mouth or the nose. I haven't noticed anyone intentionally blading during a match, but it seems like when it happens accidentally, they aren't trying as hard to cover it up.
On the other hand, I almost never hear the announcers mention it, which you think they would if the policy on bleeding in the ring was being relaxed.
What do you guys think? Have there just been a lot of accidents in the ring as of late? Perhaps Reigns is cursed with unusually thin mucus membranes? Or are they subtly allowing the use of actual blood in their scripted violence? | Promote this thread! | | InVerse

During his feud with Jericho, he begged and pleaded to be allowed to bleed and Vince finally gave in after Michaels promised it would be minimal. He supposedly cut deeper than he had intended to and ended up with a full crimson mask. Nobody has been allowed to blade since that match.
As for Reigns, I think he's just prone to being potatoed. If you watch closely in the Royal Rumble, he actually got busted open by walking into Ambrose's fist (or maybe elbow) during a back swing when everybody mobbed onto Big Show (I think) when he first entered the ring. That definitely wasn't intentional.
As for the Fastlane main event, Daniel Bryan is an old school wrestler. He knows you can't hurt a Samoan's head. As such, he probably felt comfortable slamming into Reigns' face at full speed without pulling back. Unfortunately, Reigns is only 95% Samoan and the other 5% is predominantly in his lips and nose, so he's prone to getting busted open.
I think they've relaxed the rules regarding legitimate bleeding so as not to ruin the flow of matches from minor bleeding. I don't think they're going to allow blading any time in the near future. | Big Bad

It's a much better idea to relax the rule for minor incidental cuts like if Reigns busts a lip or something than to have that super-lame "ref halts the match to towel a guy down" spot. | Blind_Guardian

| #4 Posted on 26.2.15 0143.20 Reposted on: 26.2.22 0144.15 | Honestly, Reigns' ability to easily bleed from the nose or mouth is one of his better features, in my opinion Especially combined with his extremely tough Samoan warrior look, it makes it seem like every match he bleeds in is much more intense than it would otherwise be. Granted, it helps that the Rumble and the Bryan match were both long, drawn-out battles that weren't really in the normal 'WWE style'. I wouldn't be surprised if Roman asked Bryan to kick him hard enough to bust open his lip a little, and if he didn't, I can almost guarantee he does with Lesnar. It seems like all you need is a good shot that connects right with his mouth and lips and off he goes ... and when you can pretty much bleed on command, even if you're not technically supposed to, it's gotta be tempting to turn it on for those big matches. I'm sure if he does, though, he isn't telling Vince.
You're right about the Rumble hit though ... doubtful that was intentional. Though for all I know, that elbow could have shown him just the perfect angle to get hit in to make the blood start flowing. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
