How did The E pull this one off? Normally, they're either 20 years behind the times or they're getting over-the-hill celebs that nobody cares about. But JON STEWART? At the height of all the buzz about him leaving The Daily Show? Even if this is just a one-off thing, it's incredible that they got him in the first place. Well-played!

I have many thoughts about this:
1. Stewart could put the Daily Show hosting gig up as a challenge. Effectively, he defends the show like its a title. This is also why he didn't say when he was leaving - he doesn't know when he'll be defeated.
2. I see this playing out in some sort of tag team format. Mick Foley gets involved since he was on the Daily Show a few months ago, and then that brings out John Oliver who he appeared with when he was filling in for Stewart, except of course he turns, and then we get Foley/Stewart vs. Oliver/Rollins.
3. I kinda wish Vince Russo was booking, because I would love to hear him defend giving Stewart the World Title. You've got your champion on national tv four nights a week. At least one night that week, Stewart would have to defend the title like an old-school-hardcore match when a challenger just shows up mid-taping.
4. There's no way this ends with Stewart as a WWE announcer, right? This has nothing to do with his leaving, right?
“It’s quite interesting to be honest with you. I just made the comment sort of in jest … now here he is calling me out, and I told him on Twitter, ‘Mr. Stewart, Jon, you know where to find me. I’m at Fastlane this Sunday in Memphis, or you can come check me out, I’m live in the middle of the ring on Monday Night Raw every single week.’ I told him my security guys would hold the middle rope up for him.”
When hit with the information Jon Stewart used to be a college athlete, Seth asked, “Was he a college curler? What did he play, water polo?”
TMZ pointed out that Stewart once scored the winning goal when he played against William & Mary as “a standout college soccer player,” to which Rollins responded with this.
“Oh soccer player. That’s a little bit different than what we do. People think we take falls, look at soccer players, they’re falling all over the place.”
Rollins even questioned whether Stewart was smart enough to write his “impassioned” promo on his own or if he had his “team of writers” whip it up for him.

*sigh* Apparently, it's impossible to embed a YouTube video on an iPhone.
Anyhow, Seth Rollins showed up on The Daily Show and challenged Jon Stewart to show up on Raw next week.

I freaking loved the end of the Daily Show last night. I'd been waiting for Stewart to mention his mini-feud with Rollins on his show, and was laughing my ass off when Rollins jumped on the show, in full kayfabe mode, and called Stewart out to RAW. For once, a special guest star that's actually going to ENCOURAGE me to tune in! Usually it's 'stars' like Chrisly or the Cable Guy.

I see Stewart turning Seth Rollins and helping him get away from the Authority. Go back and watch the segment from Raw; Stewart is obviously a fan of his and didn't actually say anything bad about him. Just that he made a mistake turning on his Shield teammates and that the Authority is just using him and holding him back. Stewart saying that Rollins didn't earn the MITB case felt more like him saying he should be better than that and he should have/could have won it without the help.
Stewart is a pretty smart guy, an unapologetic wrestling fan, and a good writer. The WWE could do some good with a guy like him on the payroll. Make it happen Vince!
