...what
Harmonix just announced three new songs coming to the Rock Band DLC stores on Xbox 360 and PS3 tomorrow (Tuesday, January 13) for the usual $2 price: • Arctic Monkeys – R U Mine? • Avenged Sevenfold – Shepherd Of Fire • Foo Fighters – Something From Nothing
They've done a lot of teasing of a next-gen Rock Band game on Twitter as of late. I wasn't sure if there was smoke to that fire or they're just screwing with the last remaining die-hards. This has me believing they're testing the waters. I'd certainly be interested - as in, buy a new console just for this, interested - but I'd want to be able to use my old instruments and I'd want my DLC to carry over and that seems unlikely.
I might get the Foo Fighters song, if only to throw $2 of support behind the idea of occasional continuing DLC. I enjoyed Sonic Highways (the HBO series) more than I was expecting, though I thought the new songs were the weakest part of the show. They just didn't grab me.
I have been downloading custom Rock Band songs ever since the official DLC stopped. There are some folks out there doing great work. This might fall into a gray area in terms of copyright and stuff (I think it's above-board - no money is changing hands and they're not taking away from the official DLC), so I won't go into more details here, but if you want info on how to get a dumptruck full of new Rock Band songs, let me know.

I can't imagine there's enough interest to warrant starting another thread about this, but they just released two more DLC songs: • Tenacious D - Rize of the Fenix • Weezer - Back to the Shack

If PA is in on it, maybe its Photoshop Hero (penny-arcade.com)?

I think you're on to something.
Originally posted by PolygonThe next version of Rock Band is in development for current-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to a Bloomberg Business report citing a source familiar with the plans.
Series creator Harmonix Music Systems is developing the game, the source says.
This week's report is the latest in a series hinting at Rock Band's return. Last month, Harmonix distributed a survey asking fans what they'd like in a current-gen sequel and asking which consoles players owned between PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. That followed a similar survey last June. January also saw the release of the first new tracks in two years. And just this week, the Rock Band music store got new DLC. The two new songs are both about things you love coming back.

Have you played the latest RB DLC yet? There are 2 new tracks, with names that definitely don't imply anything! https://t.co/Jx7LocHVSQ

And it's official: Rock Band 4 on PS4 and Xbox One this year. They estimate that roughly 95% of your existing songs will carry over (from Xbox 360 to Xbox One and from PS3 to PS4 - I guess I'm buying a Xbox One at some point) and they're working to make your old instruments work too. No pro instrument support. No keyboards. More to come.
