| #21 Posted on 24.11.14 0823.05 Reposted on: 24.11.21 0824.57 | This was my first PPV since Mania, and my first using the Network. It was seamless on my PS3. And this felt very much like the last Mania, with a fan favorite victorious despite Hunter and Stephanie's best efforts, and the audience losing their minds.
I saw the rumors about Sting, but once we got to the main event I figured they were bogus. I expected Orton to be the one to stymie Hunter. But there was Sting, the last WCW holdout, walking down the aisle. I was grinning like a moron. That stare-down went a bit long, but it was a big moment; they had to milk it.
Most everything before the main event was disappointing. The Dust Brothers used some double teams to make their match interesting, but it was all about Sandow (and when his time came he couldn't clear that second rope). I'm not as enamored with the stunt double gimmick because it falls apart once Sandow gets in the ring. If he all he does is ape Miz, then he would pretend to stand near the ropes when Miz tags out. But it gets him over, so I roll with it.
I had no investment in the divas tag match, but that head scissors DDT finishing move was nifty.
Except for the one full nelson, there were no rest holds in Ambrose/Wyatt, and their match had a different flow to it from everything else. It felt fresh the whole way through. Whatever happens at TLC, Ambrose needs a pinfall win at a PPV. And Wyatt seems delighted to eat a chairshot, so that might come true.
Speaking of coming true, how many times have I asked why Big Show doesn't just punch people when the bell rings? And there it was. That should be every Show match. Because when he later goozled a heel for a chokeslam, he could have already punched that guy flat and gotten the pin.
Ziggler also pinned Orton to win the 2012 Series, but this year's follow through has to be more significant. Well, as much as it can be when he unified title is currently dangling in Lesnar's Wampa cave. He could seemingly get the IC belt back easily from Harper whose power moves he's survived twice within a week.
I loved Lana chanting DA! after Steph chanted YES! Loved Rowen's giant spin kick. Loved the Rusev splash. Didn't love the Show turn, but it's Show, and that's his secondary finishing move. Did not love the abrupt Bella swerve and AJ loss. She'd be a welcome addition to Lucha Underground in a year or so.
Adam Rose's face after the win was fantastic. Fandango 2.0 is not so fantastic. Starting a PPV with a RAW talk segment is the opposite of fantastic. | CruelAngel777

Throwing a second Ryback push at me and my own mind expecting a typical Cena Superman then you floor me with a Super Ziggler push. You got me real good. The three biggest deterrents to The Authority are Bryan to start the war and Ziggler with Sting to end it. Did I write this in a dream journal that makes my wrestling ideas come true?!
The PPV was actually... very exhausting. I ran straight home from the graveyard shift at work and then Dean/Wyatt, Sting, the ceiling finally breaking for Ziggles, a very good Diva's elimination match. I'm sleeping with a smile on my face that's for sure.

| #23 Posted on 24.11.14 0924.11 Reposted on: 24.11.21 0925.05 | This is show was a lot like watching Florida State football play this season. Where they are absolute garbage for about 2 to 3 quarters and then turn it on in the fourth quarter to the shock/hate of everyone. Change hate into love for the end of this main event. I still want Jamis Winston to go down and go down hard before he gets to the playoffs.
Anyway, This card blew. Even the Ambrose/Wyatt fight was a trailer for the TLC match which I am leery about. Mizdow winning was cool, but the match was boring as hell. The rest was straight garbage. Why we needed the loophole promo of death at the beginning, I have no idea. I was ten minutes into this thing looking at the cancel button for the network.
Then, the main event happened and all was right for the world til 8pm tonight. Cena being the dumbest person alive was a nice change of pace. Sting saving Ziggler was tremendous on a lot of reasons mainly for all the screwing Sting has taken by evil factions. Even if he never steps foot in a ring again, he got his moment. Just induct him into the HOF and be done with it. Facing HHH at Mania could go wrong quick.
Somehow, someway they got me psyched for the Rumble and Raw. That has not happened for a long time. | StaggerLee

Since when does a ref stop counting because somebody's music plays? It took him a day and a half to get to the ring, then they try to recreate Rock v Hogan from Wrestlemania with the circling and face off.
Other than that, love Dolph getting the big rub here.
Everything else about this PPV was garbage. The Diva Elimination match was a botch fest. The AJ send off was stupid.
Adam Rose didnt attack the Bunny.
This PPV was crap.

| #25 Posted on 24.11.14 1022.22 Reposted on: 24.11.21 1022.52 | Enjoyable show for me. This was my first PPV since the Punk-Cena PPV a couple years ago, and my first ever on WWE Network -- they hooked me with the free month.
No one mentioning Cena coming out at the very end to hug Ziggler? I thought we might get some angle advancement there, but no dice. As entertaining as an "I saved the WWE" Ziggler might be, I think he deserves a face run to see how far he can take this.
I'm not sure how I feel about the added stip that Cena is the only person that can bring back HHH and Steph. Obviously that means that somehow we're going to end up with a leader that's even worse than them and he's going to HAVE to bring them back. With the rumors of Sting-HHH, does that mean Sting turns heel and HHH has to come back at WM to save the company? I don't think there's any way Sting is going over -- WCW never came out on top of WWE and I don't expect it to now.
Now it's up to Raw tonight to set enough of the table for TLC to entice all the free month people to stick around and pay for December. I don't have nearly enough time to take advantage of everything the Network has to offer, so for me unless the PPVs tick up, it's not really a product worth my money. | SKLOKAZOID

I've seen people pick at this moment, but it didn't really bother me. Referees aren't robots. They're human beings prone to error and emotions and their counts are always at their discretion.
Faster counts, slower counts, non-counts, heel turns, face turns, etc. The fact that Scott Armstrong was distracted by Sting's music went along with HHH's reaction. Realistic? Probably not, but I understood the character's reasoning. | wannaberockstar

It's not like it's a typical sudden music/run-in either; anybody is going to stop and have a wtf moment when the entire arena goes dark and an ominous sounding theme (that hadn't been heard, storyline wise) plays. | Hokienautic

I think it's easier to just say "since always" to answer the original question. I'm not sure why StaggerLee thinks this is a new phenomenon. | Parts Unknown

This could be explained pretty easily -- there's a difference between Triple H knowing Sting was working with WWE in some capacity, and expecting him to show up at that moment with everything that was going on. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
