Pretty brief but decent article about A-rod and the Yanks. I can't see him playing first base as an "insurance" policy if Tex gets hurt, but I can see him DH'ing 40-50% of the time.
And according to the article, if/when he hits six more HRs and ties Willie Mays, he's due a $6Million bonus. Not bad work if you can get it.
There's nowhere to trade him, he surely won't renegotiate to spread the remaining amount out over the next decade or so, so the Yankees have a broken down third baseman who can't play the field and who nobody wants.
