I loved about everything Jim Garner did, but I have three particular favorites:

Support your local gunfighter/support your local sheriff. Though they were different "characters" he played them the same. Sheriff is one of my favorite slapstick movies with Garner - and I especially enjoy the scenes he has with Harry Morgan, another favorite.

My Fellow Americans
Come on - with Jack Lemmon? and Dan Ackroyd? It's a fricking hoot.

eight simple rules
He did a great job finishing that series for Ritter.

of course, Rockford and Maverick are classics.

dude took a couple bullets in Korea. He was a real man. Impressive life.

It must be our age but I agree with AWA - these were classics, especially Sheriff and the original Maverick TV series.

The Scrounger in The Great Escape. I'll have to keep an eye on AMC or TCM to see if they do a Garner tribute in the next few days.

I should watch the Maverick series. The movie is one of my favourites and I've heard it's true to its inspiration.

Next Monday, all day on TCM nothing yet from AMC. No Great Escape.
