| Hockey beat out Smackdown last night. No regrets!|
The show opened with a Shield promo, with Seth Rollins saying that they just became stronger every time Evolution beat them down. Dean Ambrose promised that they would out-crazy Evolution, while Roman Reigns threatened the destruction of every announce table present at the match. They vowed that Evolution would face extinction.
Cesaro faced Kofi Kingston as a warmup for his match against Sheamus. Kofi got a few moves in, but Cesaro put him away by countering a springboard crossbody with the Shoryuken. After the match, he gave Kofi a Neutralizer, just because he could.
Paige faced Tamina, but Alicia Fox came out to watch the match, take selfies with the fans, and eventually grab the Divas Championship and prance around ringside with it, much to Paige's chagrin. Paige still countered the Samoan Drop into the Paige Turner, then locked in the Scorpion Crosslock, now rechristened the PTO (Paige Tap Out), to score the win. Paige then demonstrated just how angry she was at Alicia walking around with her title by standing in the ring and letting Alicia walk up the ramp with her title, though Fox wound up leaving it on the ramp. C'mon, if ever an occasion called for running out of the ring to attack someone, I'd think title theft would be it.
Bo Dallas continued to make Bolievers, facing and defeating Xavier Woods with the Bodog. Which I was totally calling the Bodog before JBL started calling it the Bodog. Because that's a truly inventive name that I feel great pride in coming up with, that no one else could but me. Yup. Xavier got a hug after the match, and tolerated it. Who's going to be the first to pop Bo after a match?
El Torito made it a clean sweep of 3MB by beating Jinder Mahal with a botched Bullsault. He proceeded to chase Hornswoggle off with a pair of hedge clippers. On Sunday, it'll be Hair vs. Mask!
In a Champion vs. Champion match, Sheamus defeated Bad News Barrett via Brogue Kick. Barrett worked on Sheamus' head, following up on what Del Rio had started on Monday (and going so far as to steal Del Rio's kneeling superkick), but Sheamus escaped Wasteland and hit the Brogue Kick for the win. He proceeded to threaten Paul Heyman, who was doing guest commentary, after the match, but let him go without visiting physical harm on him.
Heyman: I wasn't even saying anything BAD about you!
Big E, carrying an American flag and acting a bit like Hacksaw Jim Duggan, beat Titus O'Neil with the Big Ending. Lana and Русев came to watch from the ramp, bringing their own Russian flag with them, and Lana got visibly upset at the crowd for the first time when they changed "USA". Big E and Русев waved their flags at each other post-match, before their upcoming showdown on Sunday.
Adam Rose took on Jack Swagger, as Michael Cole demonstrated a remarkable lack of Looney Tunes knowledge by asking Zeb Colter if he was going wabbit hunting. C'mon, Cole, Zeb is Yosemite Sam and Elmer Fudd is the wabbit hunter! The match was played for comedy, with Rose at one point jumping up into Swagger's arms for a cradle carry. Swagger was confused and disoriented by Rose's antics, and Rose eventually got a pin off a rollup using his legs, then left to continue the party while Swagger and Zeb threw a tantrum in the ring.
The main event was a Last Man Standing match between Bray Wyatt and Jimmy Uso. The respective seconds mostly stayed out of the way during the match, letting Jimmy and Bray go at it. After Jimmy hit the Umaga buttsplash on Bray against the barricade on the outside and he got up at 8, Harper and Rowan finally intervened, but were taken out by Jey Uso. Jimmy went for a second buttsplash against the ringsteps, but Bray dodged this one, then hit Sister Abigail on the outside to get the win. Interesting to see a Last Man Standing match featuring someone far from main event level in Jimmy Uso, but if he can be so competitive against Bray, is that good for the Usos or is it a sign of weakness for Bray Wyatt? We'll find out this Sunday!
