Best known for gangster films like the Long Good Friday and Mona Lisa. Yes, and Roger Rabbit.

From the reaction on Twitter, I think he is best known for Roger Rabbit, Hook and Super Mario Bros., in that order.

Love Roger Rabbit though, still an all-time fave of mine.

I only just liked him until I saw him as Iago opposite Anthony Hopkins as Othello. This was from 1981. He is really really really good in a role that can go askew easily.

Loved him in everything mentioned. However, the first time I ever saw him was in a little-known Tom Selleck movie called Lassiter. He was great in that, too. RIP.
