The deep baritone voice of AWA and WCW (and Tony the Tiger, too!) has passed on. An absolute shame he never joined WWE after the WCW buyout. Promote this thread! | | It's False

Very sad. RIP.
Also, I did not realize that he went on to become Tony the Tiger. That's pretty fantastic. | I Breastfeed John Madden

As silly as they were, you had to appreciate his enthusiasm whenever he called in on the "Nitro Road Report". "Tony, I'm hanging here at a Nitro Party on Bourbon Street and all the people I've talked to are excited to see The Giant face Hollywood Hogan, next week on Nitro!"

And you notice you never actually saw him on-screen in any of the places he was at.
Eric used Turner's money to get a friend an easy job, and then got 1-800-COLLECT or something to pay for the spot. Probably all done from his easy chair in LA. Still, "Stagger" was a Nitro mainstay. | BigDaddyLoco

Bobby was probably pissed he had to show up at the arena and deal with Tony for 3 hours, then had to listen to Lee phone it in, literally. | DJ FrostyFreeze

I believe the story is he was just backstage at Nitro. There was probably some other stuff for him to do - repackaging Nitro for international markets? - but flying to a town just to do a 15 second plug must've been a really great gig at times, and a really boring one at other times.
