Pretty much.

My buddy told me about Jarrett's new venture yesterday at lunch and I didnt have much hope in it then, even less now.

Yes. I think I've used up my quota of cynicism and doomsday predictions for the day, but I didn't have a lot of hope for this before and less so when this is this how they decided to make their first impression. They're under capitalized in either money or sense.

The name sounds like something out of an 80s cartoon.

Everybody thought it was a horrible idea to do a weekly PPV from a crappy place in Nashville too, and that seemed to do okay for him. Give it time before we decide it's a failure.

I don't know if I have the time to watch another hour of wrestling per week, but his work has certainly built up enough good will with me that I'll give his first few shows a chance.

Technically, no, they quickly ran out of money and that experiment would've ended after 13 weeks had they not found the Carters. What Jeff did best was find someone willing to foot the bill thru the bad times and the really bad times.

(No mention of Toby Keith or Toby Keith like people here, but they're also not spending any money yet.)

If NWA-TNA was indy level bad, they wouldn't have been attractive to the Carters. He and his dad knew how to book, brought in young, exciting talent and put on decent shows. It wasn't WWE level entertainment, but it was enough to get a strong foothold in the industry.

I don't think the big money supposedly behind this will be shy with the checkbooks.

I believe the first five months of NWA TNA lost so much money so quickly that Dixie Carter bought principal ownership of the company for $250 grand.
