Gets Dave away from the title scene and gives HHH someone who he won't mind acting the heel for.
HHH/Batista would probably get a similar reaction to Lesnar/Goldberg at WM XX, no matter who is heel or face.
I don't think the backlash is against Batista, but because he's in the spot people want Bryan in.
If the Bryan issue is dealt with I suspect the fans would be quite content to root for Batista as a face. | JustinShapiro

That's ... probably what I would do, come to think of it. If Hunter's really the best, he can get Batista over again. It's a rerun but they only had three really successful matches nine years ago, unlike Dave and Randy who were feuding in 2009. "Preserving the sanctity of the Royal Rumble" doesn't matter when you already screwed up the Royal Rumble and got it booed out the dang 'ding.
I think D. Meltzer figured out the finish (or one of the finishes). Bryan's shoulder goes out and Triple H re-does the real life deal from last July where he has the trainer stop the match against Bryan's wishes. | steven87gill

On both occasions Lesnar feuded with HHH, the heel face roles were all messed up.
It's the same story with Orton/HHH in 2009, the build up was great, but again, the douche bag corporate stooge was playing the face, & the natural anti-hero bad ass, was playing the heel. Explaining why even though the build up was great, none of the actual matches ever really had any spark.
(the above theory might also explain why Orton/Cena was initially hot, but cooled of... they never switched up the heel face dynamic & were never willing to portray Orton as Cena's equal, & thus it will never be that legendary feud that WWE so wants it to be.)

1) O'Neil/Young (Prime Time Players Explode) - O'Neil with his finishing maneuver for the pin.
2) Batista/Del Rio - Batista Bomb in a Squash.
3) Outlaws/Usos (Tag Team Title Match) - Usos with the kick, then a splash. Usos finally win tag team title.
4) Wyatt Family/The Shield (Armagheddon) - I could see all tables/barriers/etc being destroyed in this match. Wyatts with the pin via Sister Abigail after Ambrose "accidentally" gets speared by Reigns. Turn made official by Reigns on Raw.
5) Big E/Swagger (IC Title Match) - E with the Big Ending, Colter gets tossed mid-match.
6) Orton/Bryan/Cesaro/Cena/Sheamus/Christian (Elimination Chamber WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match) - I am doing this a little different here. I'll start with the order. Goes Bryan/Cesaro/Cena/Christian/Sheamus/Orton. No one will be eliminated until all are involved. Order of elimination/how/who: 1) Christian/Neutralizer/Cesaro. 2) Sheamus/Running Knee/Bryan. 3) Cena/unable to continue/Wyatt beatdown. 4) Cesaro/Yes Lock/Bryan. 5) Bryan/RKO/Orton after Kane/HHH/Steph/Outlaws-ference. | Big G

I've been thinking along similar lines. Ergo, Cena wins the Chamber.
Rybaxel, O'Neil, Batista, Usos, Big E,
And in the only other match on the card with even the sligtest amount of intrigue - Wyatts / Shield. I'm tipping a 'No Contest'. | Excalibur05

The Wyatt Family. Why are they breaking up all these tag teams that helped bring the division back. The Real Americans, The Shield, The Brotherhood, The PTP, Tons of Funk.
Big E. I want Swagger to win, but they will go with the E. They should keep The Real Americans together. Besides "Yes", "We The People" is the loudest chanted on cue in the WWe.
Orton. Cool spot will be Cesaro will counter Orton's punt into the Big Swing. I really like calling Cesaro "The Next Big Swing."
The Usos. If Punks walk out isn't a work, these two past timers, coming back, getting a Royal Rumble payday, getting the straps, and then getting a Wrestlemania payday is more then enough reason for anyone to walk out.
Titus O'Neil.

The Usos d. the NAO - It's been fun having the Outlaws with the tag titles, but I'm pretty sure the Uso's are due for a reign.
Jack Swagger d. Big E - via Coulterference.
ADR d. Batista - and ADR is the babyface in this, if for any reason, the crowd boos Batista. ADR wins by cheating and gets a massive pop. Wyatt Family and Shield - no winner, it goes to either a double countout, DQ, or no contest. I see Ambrose eating a Sister Abigail at the end of the match, though.
Cesaro wins the six Elimination Chamber.
Rhodes Brothers d. Rybaxel - for no real reason outside that it's the prelim match and it's mean to warm the crowd up.
Darren Young d. Titus O'Neal - but the feud continues. | steven87gill

In-fact, the more I think about it, the more certain i am that it's happening. Clever dick fans had cottoned on to the idea of HHH doing it at TLC, yet it didn't happen, in fact the end of TLC felt weirdly uneventful, like something was supposed to happen, but didn't.

Orton retains.
The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family: The Shield win after Reigns almost single-handedly dispatches everyone. Ambrose turns on Reigns after the match.
Batista vs. Alberto Del Rio: This has to be a last hurrah kind of deal for ADR, because he has absolutely nothing left after this. Batista wins.
Big E. vs. Jack Swagger, WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Can't see them taking the title off Langston. Langston wins.
The New Age Outlaws vs. The Usos, WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Why the hell is this company cannibalizing its tag team division for the sake of giving Road Dogg and Billy one last run that nobody asked for? Outlaws retain to set up a WrestleMania showdown.
Darren Young vs. Titus O'Neil: This match depresses me. Titus wins.
PRE-SHOW: The Rhodes Brothers vs. Rybaxel: Speaking of cannibalizing the tag division, here they go teasing the Rhodes breakup, just to send Cody back to midcard heel land, where he first started, thus taking his career in a giant circle. Rybaxel wins, as they continue their long road to nowhere. |
