Reposted on: 14.2.21 1432.21 | The entire second season of House of Cards was released earlier today, and the premiere was absolutely insane. I didn't plan to binge-watch this season (I find shows more enjoyable when taken week-to-week), but after the shocking events of the first episode I'm starting to reconsider.
This show is just too damn good - it's becoming an addiction, and I plan to keep plowing through over the weekend. With a day off for President's Day, it's not unreasonable to think I'll be done with the whole 13-episode shebang before work on Tuesday morning.
How unbelievable was the death of Zoe Barnes? I let out an audible gasp when Frank pushed her in front of that oncoming train. I can honestly say that I never saw the one coming. I thought the focus of the season would be Zoe's quest to take down Frank Underwood. Turns out that I was way off-base. Without a doubt, one of the most out-of-the-blue twists that I've ever seen.
My only worry is that the season will lose momentum after such a fast-paced return. I'm not sure if faux-Bradley Cooper is enough of a credible threat to take down Frank, so I really hope that they introduce a new adversary for him.
It takes a special kind of show to deliver an honest to goodness FU to the entire audience at the end of an episode. House of Cards is back with a vengeance, and I for one could not be more excited. | Promote this thread! |             | StaggerLee

Spacey and Wright are great and Michael Kelly extremely underrated but after axing both Stoll and Mara there isn't anyone else particularly interesting. I'm halfway through the season and I find both Gerald McRaney and Molly Parker's characters to be fascinating. Especially McRaney. The first season basically had Underwood manipulating and deceiving a lot of moralistic (or at least good deep-down) characters, but this season has Frank locking horns with a guy who is as morally bankrupt as he is and McRaney is fabulous at it. | Quezzy
