| #1 Posted on 17.1.14 1748.43 Reposted on: 17.1.21 1748.56 | This week's show and next week's show are themed as a two-part Genesis event. My various thoughts on the show are as follows.
Interesting shot of the announcers at the beginning during the Mae Young tribute. It looked low-budget.
I remain enamored with Dixie’s heel theme intro. I’m surprised that it didn’t get more of a pop in Alabama.
“Cross the boss”, “any takers”, and “ready to play that game.” Classic Dixie.
Always good to see a champion wear a belt around his waist. Interesting how all the heel champs were involved in the scheme other than Sabin.
Rockstar Spud is fun for what he does.
ODB, Joseph Park, Eric Young, James Storm, Gunner, and Samoa Joe beat Lei’D Tapa, the Bro-Mans, Zema Ion, and Bad Influence, when Joe made Daniels tap out.
I disike the new blue X-title belt.
Intriguing brotherhood building moment between Magnus and ECIII. Their developing relationship, including how ECIII feels bitter about not being the Champ, is one of my favorite background plotlines right now.
Bully Ray pinned Mr. Anderson after a piledriver.
I was very distracted by Ray’s calf muscles. They look less muscly than usual. Hopefully it's just the lighting. I would hate for Calfzilla to lose the source of his powers.
Dixie made the right call in postponing the Angle/Roode match for a week. Angle was way too distracted to have stood a fair chance against Roode.
Madison Rayne pinned Gail Kim to become the new Knockouts Champion. I'm quite disappointed about that. Kim has been a refreshing champion. Hopefully she gets her title back soon.
American Wolfes revealed that they wouldn't do any mere tryout match, because they already were given contracts by a mysterious new TNA investor! I wonder if this investor was also the funder of the Friends of AJ ads. Jarrett is the obvious suspect. Other possibilities include Hogan, Bischoff, and Foley. Ethan Carter III pinned Sting in a match with special referees Rockstar Spud and Magnus.
I enjoyed the Magnus referee shirt reveal.
Sting getting another titleshot would feel more like a big deal if he hadn't received a chance at one a few months ago. Magnus is right, Sting is being a spoilsport about his whole being banned from titleshots situation. If Sting wasn't willing to be satisfied with not getting anymore titleshots he should not have agreed to that stipulation when he faced Ray last June. Promote this thread! | | graves9
