| #1 Posted on 3.1.14 2107.53 Reposted on: 3.1.21 2108.43 | It's a new year, and... apparently my DVR decided it doesn't want to record Smackdown as scheduled. So I only caught the last half of the show. Hopefully someone else can fill in the rest!
The Brotherhood defended their tag titles against the Wyatts, though Bray Wyatt was mysteriously absent, apparently with Daniel Bryan. Cody was isolated and properly destroyed in the match, but after numerous tag attempts were foiled, Goldust got a blind tag in during an irish whip and landed a surprise rollup on Rowan (who had just back body dropped Cody) for the win.
Nikki Bella defeated Aksana via her torture rack drop. Good to see the Aksana push after her Monday win going so well! No sign of Brie Bella, due to the Daniel Bryan situation. Big E Langston defeated Curtis Axel handily via the Big Ending.
Paul Heyman was interviewed by Michael Cole, and he explained that now that there's only one champion, Brock Lesnar wants that title. He had no interest in a title when it was disputed. Heyman promised Lesnar would be at Old School Raw on Monday.
The main event had CM Punk and the Usos vs. the Shield. Apparently the opening segment was Rollins/Reigns vs. the Usos, with Ambrose interfering to cause a DQ and set up this match. In this match, there was some Shield tension in the tags, with Rollins sneaking in a tag on Ambrose when Ambrose didn't want to leave the match, and later Ambrose refusing to tag to Reigns when Reigns wanted in. That last non-tag wound up costly, as Punk took out Ambrose with the GTS.
After that main event match, we cut to a Bray Wyatt vignette, where he talked about Daniel Bryan finally coming home. Bryan wouldn't listen to 'them' anymore, now there would only be one voice for him to hear. Bray's voice. And boom, the show ended.
Someone needs to tell JBL that calling Big E Langston "a mix of strength and power" doesn't really work. Speed and power, JBL! Speed and power! Promote this thread! | | InVerse

I understand your point, but strength and power aren't necessarily the same thing. A strong person can lift a lot of weight, but that doesn't mean they have the power to knock someone out with a punch, and vice versa. | dwaters

| #3 Posted on 4.1.14 0918.02 Reposted on: 4.1.21 0918.24 | The Shield are quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite wrestling groups/factions/teams. They're just so fun to watch.
That said, WWE is in danger of overexposing them on their shows. They are all over Raw and Smackdown lately.
I definitely think Kane is a Wyatt Family mole in The Authority. It's the only way his role makes sense. Maybe Team Hell No will reunite and take down everybody. | PowerPB13

Gotta kill everyone else's heat to be sure Cena's the only one who gets a reaction.

| #5 Posted on 4.1.14 0954.08 Reposted on: 4.1.21 0955.13 | To add to the 'Kane is a mole' theory, Kane is the one who booked the Bryan vs. Wyatts three on one handicap match. While on the surface that seems like a typical Authority move, it also furthered the Wyatt agenda by handing Bryan a rare loss, at the hands of Bray himself no less.
One note from commentary that I forgot to mention, when they were discussing the absence of Brie Bella from the Divas match, they said that Brie had heard from Daniel Bryan and that he was 'alright'. They couldn't speculate on what 'alright' meant in the context of "I just got indoctrinated into a cult", but we presumably will learn more on Monday, when we have a television show that wasn't taped before the episode everything went down on, as was the case with this Smackdown being taped the Sunday before Raw. | JustinShapiro

| #7 Posted on 5.1.14 0324.08 Reposted on: 5.1.21 0324.11 | Sadly, all Howard Dean-esque screams from Brock Lesnar were muted out of the RAW Rebound Director's Cut, so I guess they never happened.
We should note that the main event was set up after the OPENING match of Usos vs. Rollins & Reigns ended in DQ/Punk run-in/Vickie holla holla. (I wonder what the scheduled main event was before the holla holla?) I believe this is the 23d consecutive week we've had holla holla booking on a WWE programme. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
