I dunno if you guys have heard, but they released an Anchorman sequel! Boy, this one really flew under the radar, the studio's promotion department really dropped the ball on this one.
Jokes aside, I have to this one a 'meh.' Not crazy about the actual story/message that was being told within this goofy world; not that I disagree with the message, it's that Anchorman shouldn't have a "message," per se.
In fairness, I was impressed that they resisted from repeating or rehashing many jokes from the first movie...until the last 15 minutes, when we get several of the original Anchorman's greatest hits in succession.

Admittedly, I laughed a lot at the new battle of the newsteams, and was impressed by some of the big stars they brought in for cameos. Boy did I laugh at Neeson leading the History Channel crew, complete with the actual ghost of Stonewall Jackson. Carrey and Cotillard as Team Canada was also pretty great.

We (the public) haven't seen a comedy this good in a while. If you just shrug and accept the silliness, it's a total hoot. Steve Carrell steals every single scene he is in and there's a bunch of cameos.
Those who like to nitpick what could and couldn't happen or exist in 1980 will have a field day though.

The first half of the movie is REALLY funny, but the latter half drags a bit until the cameo-filled battle scene.

When they drifted from 'the message,' that is when the film derails a bit. It's almost like they were afraid of getting too didactic, so they just went off on this whole other tangent that wasn't nearly as funny or entertaining - and that just seemed to drag on and on. By the time the film gets back on track, I was not nearly as invested in the story as I was.
But it's still a really funny movie - just... not as funny as it could've been.
