I honestly thought that this was the whole point of the show. It's Item 47: The TV Series.

Maybe it'll branch into something more in the future, or certain episodes might do different things, but it has mostly been them dealing with ramifications of the BONY.

This is the big event in the Marvel Universe til they either get their shit together and do Galactus or Thanos. This for all intensive purposes is the beginning of the Marvel movies going from being individual stories to a universe. The attack on NY is a game changer for that world prior to that the biggest threat was the Devastator landing in New Mexico and Hydra. One was taken out without anyone knowing about it minus a few and the other was taken out when a good chunk of the people living in that universe weren't born. So, this is the moment that their world changed. Hell, if this happened in our world, it would be massive event that would cause massive ramifications.

Its like saying lets do a cop show after 9/11 in NY and not talk about 9/11 ever. You have to deal with the clean up. We still are dealing with 9/11, I expect Marvel to treat the same way. If they are complaining about the milk toast characters, well...I could go more on that, but I won't. Needless to say a few of them came a long way in this episode.

It's in the same timeslot as the highest-rated show on television. Also, I suspect SHIELD is one of those shows that has a notably higher rating once you factor in DVRs/online viewing/etc.

I never watch this show in it's intended timeslot so I am definitely one of those that would get counted in the DVR/On Demand/Hulu ratings.

This is plain & simple mindless fun. I am enjoying every episode. I just suspend belief just like I did when I was reading the comic books as a kid. That and I liked Chloe when she was underutilized on Nashville.
