Reposted on: 10.9.20 1054.14 | After much outrage when it was removed, wrestling was voted back into the Olympics on Sunday as a provisional sport for 2020 and 2024.
It's still ridiculous to me that wrestling was ever removed, but I guess that's what the wrestling people thought when the sport was on the chopping block. They didn't respond and wound up axed.
Since then, they cut the weight classes for men, added weight classes for women, and changed the rules to make matches more exciting and easier for casual fans to follow. I don't know enough about amateur wrestling to know if these things are good ideas, but hey, they're back in, right?
