| #1 Posted on 22.6.13 0117.24 Reposted on: 22.6.20 0121.10 | I went into this movie cold, knowing nothing of the source material or the post-production issues that pushed the release date from December 2012 to Summer 2013. I caught up with all of that noise afterwards. Funny thing is, this very much plays like a Summer movie - big budget, grand scale, super action, total popcorn flick.
Nothing ground-breaking about the plot, but damn this was nearly non-stop action. The first 30-45 minutes really were non-stop. The whole thing is pretty freaking tense, with very little time to breathe. I swear a couple people clapped when they flashed "W.H.O." on the screen.
There were a couple of unintentionally funny moments with some zombies near the end (I can only assume they were unintentional, but who knows).
I'm sure the CGI is cheesy, but honestly, everything moves too quickly for you to notice.
Mireille Enos shone in her criminally brief role.
I recommend seeing it in a full theater. Promote this thread! | | oudom

I was wondering why Matthew Fox was cast to do nothing and why in the trailers they talked about Russia but in the final movie they changed it to India.
I didn't like the ending. Movie was ok. I think I got my hopes up based on the positive reviews. Glad I went during matinee. | samoflange

I've listened to the audiobook several times and love it, so I'd recommend others to check that out. The text book is probably good too, but the audiobook has legit voice actors and it is very well produced. | spf

A full version of the audiobook with all of the stories was just released a few weeks ago. http://www.amazon.com/World-War-Complete-Edition-History/dp/0804165734/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372110098&sr=8-1&keywords=world+war+z+audiobook | lotjx

I meet Max once, good guy didn't realize his father was fucking Mel Brooks! I still good strangle my friend for not telling me. He is a giant fan of the book and went white when he heard about the plot for the movie. Sorta made up for not telling me I was meeting the son of the greatest comedic mind ever! Almost.
